Listal is first and foremost for inserting your collections and that is still working fine.

I would like it to become a bit bigger though. Imagine if it would become the number one source for people to post their collections. It would be nice.

I love listal, but am getting frustrated - especially when I log on and what I see is "Important - Due to a database error we have lost ratings and added items for the last 3 weeks, reviews and custom lists are not affected, appologies to anyone who has lost data due to this." I'm not really using the ratings function, but if they keep on losing added items I might have to switch to LibraryThing or AllConsuming, and I don't want to - because I do love this site.

I lost more than three weeks of added items...when it happened, the last listed item I had was July, and that is definitely more than 3 weeks, especially considering I was adding stuff weekly for a long time.

Currently I've lost over 700+ films that took me 2 days to input (I'm a new member). That's the only explanation I get for lost data / wasting my time. Had not finished adding to this list, thus yet to export.

To everyone who lost a ton of stuff, don't get discouraged. Having been on this site for a long time, I can honestly say that Tom must feel absolutely horrible about this. I've never seen an admin take so many recommendations from members and implement them, sometimes within hours, so to all new users, please stick around. I know re-rating hundreds of items is a major chore, but it could have been much worse. I'm thankful we didnt lose any custom added entries, image uploads, reviews, and custom lists, some of which have weeks of effort in them.
