How I should categorize the films I watched?

Sweet Shark 10 years, 11 months ago at Jun 3 16:30 -

So for a long time I update constantly list I created with the videogames I play.
I categorise them base of the platform I play them [PC,NES,PS3,etc]

Now I want to create different list with movies I watched.
I just need a suggestion how to categorise them?
List with Animation movies?
List with Horror movies?
List with Fantasy movies?

That why I need help.

Thnak you

That's entirely up to you. Going by genre is popular, like you listed- horror, fantasy, etc. I think it's easier with movies than with games because games are listed multiple times for each console they're available on (which I find annoying but whatever) but all movies are just one item.

Anyway I like the ones you suggested! Horror, fantasy, drama, sci-fi, comedy? I guess animated movies can go into those categories depending on the movie.

Or you could sort them be when they were released, 1980's, 1990's, etc.

As for me, I do not categorize thr movies I watch, but I create a new Watched/ Rewatched list every three months, so that it doesn't grow too long.

Yep, I prefer listing by genres myself; it keeps things nice and tidy. Of course, many films cross over into different genres so, with them, you'll have to make a choice which genre they fit into the most.

Of course, you could always categorize them by the actor who starred in them (or even the director) but by genre is the most popular. Or like Mack said, by decade.

In the end, the choice is up to you.

Films involving vegetables.

Films that are mildly pink to the eye.

Films that are very pink to the eye.

Pink films that are actually blue.

Films that aren't films at all, but are actually fish.

Those should cover all possible bases.

Thank you for your suggestions, but what about movies that they are mix of different genres?
It will be difficult to put some specific films in my opinion.

For example, the Alien movies.
Sure it is a Sci-Fi movie, but it is also a Horror movie.

Well, as far as Alien, the common theme between them all is that they are 'sci-fi'. Even though the first is sci-fi/horror and the second is sci-fi/action and the third is sci-fi/boring...the common theme is sci-fi. ;D

@Fortunato

Then it seems I need get an idea what I will do.

I will create categories:
-Base of the Theme of the movie, not the genre.
-Base of the genre ONLY if the movies are HEAVILY only in one specific one.
-Base of the kind of movie/show: Animation,TV show,Anime.

I will try an figure out a combination for all the categories I want to create.

Thank you for your inspiration!!!
