How many new films have you watched in a single day?

Sitting down and watching a film with full attention is usually quite easy but watching more than one film is quite taxing on your mind and your overall perception of a film. As part of my 2009 Quest, I've been trying to chalk up as many films as possible to reach my goal. My current method is to watch as many new films as possible in a single day since the majority of my week is consumed by work. :-(
I've been trying to break my record of 7 since Feb but don't have the time or energy to accomplish such a feat:
Transporter 2 2/10
Nacho Libre 2/10
Casanova 3/10
Flushed Away 4/10
World Trade Center 4/10
The General's Daughter 5/10
Beneath the Planet of the Apes 4/10
The Weekend just gone I was able to watch 6 on Saturday, 5 on Sunday and 5 on Monday. Baring in mind, all these films were ones that I have never seen before so I didn't know what to expect.
So I put it to you, how many films that you haven't seen before have you watched in a single day? Aswell how many films (seen/ unseen) have you watched from beginning to end in a day? The film has to be at least 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Obviously there is a limit to how many feature length films you can watch in a 24hr period. So don't bother lying.

I think five in one day is my running total. Sometimes I go home and cane my brothers Jet Li collection, I did that around Christmas time and they're often in handy 90 minute chunks.

I think I've only watched 3 in 1 day

most I can recall (not counting ones on TV marathons) would be...5. I've watched all 5 Rocky movies in a day, and on a seperate occasion watched 5 totally unrelated films in a day so they could get back to the library on time.

I once ate through 9...I'm not sure if you could call it in one day though. I woke at 7am, went to bed again at about 3am the next day. Call it what you like, but I got through them all in the space between waking up and going to sleep again.

I personally think its more of a feat between sleeping sessions. With my 7, I woke up at 10am and didn't sleep until 4.30am. While a waste of a day since none of the films were higher than 5 Stars, I just wanted to see how many I could do in one sitting.
I literally had my George Foreman set up next to me. Bacon Sarnies galore!

Ah okay. Well I'm happy that I got through 9 between sleeping sessions. I just watched them one after the other...I felt lazy.

Looks like the challenge is on Caboose...

Typically, if I am going to have a "Couch Potato"event then I watch a TV series on DVD. When I had a bit of the flu I think I watched almost the entire Firefly series in one sitting.
With movies I typically only watch them one or maybe two at a time. But I have had a few days where I watched three.

I'm with Saritha: if I park it for an extended period of time, it's usually for a TV show on DVD. (I sat through all three seasons of Weeds in one weekend)...
Otherwise, I can't watch more than three movies a day. I'm too restless to do more than that.

I could never come close to that record. I'm too aggravated by a bad movie (i shut off Transporter 2 after 15 minutes, and Nacho Libre after 10) and once I finish watching a great movie, I have no desire to keep watching another one right away. So for me, I think 3 is about the limit I could ever achieved.

4: All the Harry Potters up to Goblet of Fire. Truly some great works of art. No. 5 was pure crap.

In fact, its contraversial.
When you were younger, did anyone just watch the same film over and over. Like several times in one day? I could never do that now but I would put on the Mask or Aliens or Hook and watched it about 6 times a day. I prefer a variety these days!

When I was younger I'd frequently watch The Lion King. Sometimes 3-4 times a day.

I have watched maybe six movies twice or more ever, I don't like repeating things, it is sort of stupid in my opinion
However, I read books several times, but thats off subject
I think my max was probably 6 during this cool movie marathon

I usually watch a movie several times. Opinions change over time. So I usually watch a movie again frequently.
I've seen the film Bowfinger at least 50 times. It's probably the film I've seen the most.

OMG, I can barely watch one film per week :(((( *lol*

I take home 10 new titles a week to watch for the next Tuesday's release date, and usually end up sitting through 6 or 7 on the Saturday before I have to have them back to the store.
I know I have watched more in one day, but can't say for sure how many without doing it again! Today, it has just been three. I also like to sit through entire show seasons in the space of a day - or, during the time between times I am in bed!

I spent the day in the cinema at Christmas and saw Enchanted, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and St Trinian's. I felt like the oldest person there!

AZ Man, will you stop posting next to nothing in all these threads!!

An Even Chance
Examination for Lieutenant
Frogs & Lobsters
Duchess and the Devil

Retribution

Or the one with Gregory Peck?
Don't be lying GemLil.
I did watch the first four movies within a 24 hour span though...

I'm really not a movie marathoning person. I prefer to do tv shows or mini series and those sessions can last a very long fracking time. This week I spent 16+ hrs watching this single show in one sitting (and not even the whole thing just one season since that alone was 39 episodes) . Sure we took a three or four hour break to sleep but eh... It wasn't that good of a show in all honesty.

I think the most I have watched is around 3 or 4.

I think I only watch two or three dvds in a day... as for regular movies, I've only seen two cinematic releases in one day....can't even remember what they were so they must've both sucked. I wish I could watch more than one a day at the cinema sometimes.

I think maybe nine, few times 8 and several times 7. Once I watched 25 movies in four days in Sodankylรคn elokuvafestivaali www.msfilmfestival.fi/fpage.php?lang=1 .
Twice a year there is this horror, cult, fantasy, sci-fi film festival in Finland: Night Visions nightvisions.info/. It starts at 9pm (used to start at 11pm) and finishes usually in 1-3pm the next day. 7 films in a row. I've attended 12 times so far. I like movies.

Gosh, I can barely sit through two movies. If a film is good, I need some time to think about it before going on to something else.
As for watching movies over again, I used to watch The Little Mermaid and Aladdin over and over again when I was younger. Nowadays I recently watched Magnolia and Reservoir Dogs again, but usually only when I want my friends to watch it with me.
I'm thinking about doing a James Bond marathon this Christmas - Quantum of Solace was weak and I've never seen the old ones. Any of you guys ever done this?

Averaged about four films a day (some days Five) while attending Fantastic Fest.

9 Movies at a Sci-Fi convention, managed to see clockwork orange (which was banned at the time), but was too tired to appreciate it first time around.
Remember folks its not quantity, its quality that really matters!

Anyone watched "The Longest Most Meaningless Movie in the World"? It came out in 1970 and runs for 48 hours exactly!

Or "The Cure for Insomnia" that came out in 87 and have a running time of 87 hours.

I watched The Reader, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire in one day in theatres last year, just in time for the Oscars. Hoping to do the same again this year.

Most is 8 in a row on a single day. Unfortunately I didn't write the list down, so I have to try and to do something same another day! I haven't been to far with 6 and 7 movies, but never have i done 8 again.
Here is an 7 film-marathon I did when I was on TG (The Gathering - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gathering_%28computer_party%29):
- Far Cry
- Disaster Movie
- Date Movie
- Fatso
- Ong bak 2
- Punisher: War Zone
- Bedtime Stories

The most I have watched is 4 in one day. I want to beat that.

As for watching movies over again, I used to watch Dear John and Aladdin over and over again when I was younger. Nowadays I recently watched Avatar again, but usually only when I want my friends to watch it with me...............lolz

I think 4.
But I did marathon the Lord of the Rings, the extended versions... so that probably counts as a lot more movies cos the whole trilogy is immense... around 11 hours.
And in te end I said... "never more..." But it was quite a ride!

3 in One Day- I once watched all of the LOTR films in one session. It was raining. I was bored. I was like DEAD afterwards... Not recomended.

I managed to go to Crazy Heart, Up in the Air, Precious and The Blind Side on Saturday. Then it was Avatar in 3D on Sunday.
