How long have you been using Listal?

I first started using Listal over seven years ago and used it actively for a few years. Then I decided to take a little break and that little break turned into five years :D Now I'm back again and trying to add movies that I've seen during that time, it might take a while!
So my question is: how long have you guys been using Listal? And to anyone who has been here for several years, can you tell me if things have changed in the last few years? Are there more active members/has the popularity of the site changed etc? I'm curious because I really love the idea of this site but none of my friends use it (anymore).

I will try to answer your questions :
1. how long have you guys been using Listal?
I have been using it for 6 years (!)
2. And to anyone who has been here for several years, can you tell me if things have changed in the last few years?
It depends on how you see it. On one hand, several updates have been done through the years but, on the other hand, those updates have never really changed or improved the website in my opinion. In fact, the last update has been quite unpopular resulting in many long time users dropping from the website.
3. Are there more active members/has the popularity of the site changed etc?
Unfortunately not. It has always been the biggest issue with this website, the fact that there was not so many people actually really interested in it. Well, it seems as if even less people are active nowadays, I'm afraid.

I just registered not too long ago. I contribute, and create list primarily for Unikgamer now Favslist. When they were down I decided to branch out and came across Ranker, TheTopTens, GiantBomb and Listal search username StealthRUSH. Love the concept of displaying items on a shelf and many entries already exist. I intend to create public list of my expertise retro video-games to recommend other enthusiasts. Also other things I enjoy to be taken lightly as well.

I'm a rookie on listal so my thoughts really don't hold any value, but I'll give my 2 cents anyway. You can't just jump on here and make a list and have it look professional. I can really tell the difference between the users that have been doing this a while and guys like me. Personally I think that is a good thing, I like a challenge and I like learning, but I can see where that might push people away. My second observation is that there is a rift between the users that are all about "hot women" (like myself) and the rest of listal. In reality listal is SFW there are some porn stars on here, but it is very limited. When I signed on I just wanted a place to store and organize all of my pics I really didn't plan on making pages or collecting votes. What I found was a huge collection of people and places that I've never heard of, and most of my pics were already here. The creator and moderators of listal deserve a lot of credit for making a website that gives the users the power to grow it. I hope they keep it it going.

I joined in August 2011 and I'm still pretty active,...,....

I have been here for many years (don't know how long as my first account I deleted). Overall, I'd say it hasn't changed much especially in terms of function and design. I try to get my friends to join but it just doesn't take with them I guess as they don't stick around. It's unfortunate because there's really no other site like this and despite all the bugs (images frequently not loading, especially when coming from Amazon) and silly rules, it's a great concept. I wish it was more popular.

Just this week. I posted a list of hottest women was wondering if u guys could drop in a vote or opinion on it

I've been here 8 years.
I think if there were some sort of content/quality filter for the lists that make the front page it could be initially more appealing.
Or somehow show the creative of range of lists made, right off the bat.
Right now it just looks like a bunch of horny dudes making lists of hot women and a few creative lists sprinkled in here and there.

@Stehako, Amen to you....

Definitely agree with @Stehako, I'm sure the front page full of hottest women are turning people away. A curated front page would be rad, even separate from the promoted list so we still get points for that. But it would require someone to be actively picking lists for it which is a lot of work, and it would probably be too biased to just have one person picking what's featured.
I've been here for about seven and a half years, to stay on topic! Still enjoy making lists, even though I'm online less often. Getting back into it though.

I wish this format was a bit more popular too. It's one of my favourites websites. I just think that people who are still active are invested in their own bubbles or their own pages, doing their own things and there isn't much interaction.

4 years 19th april it's my aniversary on the page
at least comparing to 2017 / 2018 activity it's way different in 2019 i kinda moved to rym and letterboxd but i still appreciate listal and how helped me
