How has the pandemic/quarantine affected your movie watching

Mackenzi 3 years, 10 months ago at Jun 18 2:08 -
I expect a lot of us have had a lot of extra indoors time the last few months. The quarantine made it harder for me to focus on reading this spring, but starting in May I got into the swing of watching movies again. Life feels tumultuous- I moved across the country and it's been chaotic- but it has increased my desire to escape into movies. The resurgance of the BLM movement has also inspired me to branch out more and try more films made by POC, which was a goal for me this year. How have your movie habits changed? Or are you finding life somewhat unchanged?

I really enjoy the experience of going to a theater to see a movie, eat popcorn and drink soda. When the theaters closed down I was pretty bummed. I watched movies on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc. Rented movies from Red Box and even purchased DVDs of movies I wanted to see or really liked. Mu collection has expanded, but.... Still miss the experience. My movie watching has dropped since.

The movie theaters (we have two near me) had opened up. No first run movies that I was interested in and the others were old movies. Went to one showing (Back To the Future trilogy) that was a lot of fun. Took the whole afternoon. The other movie theater was opened for a while then shut down again.

I don't know, even the experience has changed (got to wear a mask, seat separation, every other row empty). Popcorn and coke is still good. Ho hum.
