how can i delete my account?!

Seconded. There should be a way to remove your account.

I would like to add this function but there are issues involved with it.

e.g. What happens to threads deleted people have started?
What happens to comments on other peoples pages and reviews?
What happens to mail sent by deleted users?
Risk of people deleting other peoples profiles and data, if they know the password..

I assume deleted people would like all data to be deleted? should things like mail and comments remain but be turned in to anonymous comments?

Opinions welcome or if anyone know what happens on other networks that info would be appreciated.

First, to ninha: you can change all of the information on the profile to generic information, and fill in only required info until an account deletion is figured out...

Along with what Tom mentioned, what about all of their tags and contributed data (like pictures)? Would the contributed data go to a general (or special) account or point to someone else? Once deleted, would everything stay in place, either linkless, or point to a page stating that the user's account is gone?

As far as the risk of deleting someone else's account, there should be something like a confirmation email sent, and the request is only good for a certain time period. Just an idea.

In my view, I'm not sure whats the big deal. If you dont want to use listal, fine, clear out all your personal info, delete out your personal lists, and leave the account dormant. I think I can count on one hand sites that allow a full account deletion. And even ones that allow it, threads and messages from user remain on the system even after user is deleted.

There should be an option to delete your account and all of it's contents because one of your fucking users hacked my information, if you didn't do it yourself "Tom", and is now blackmailing me for money for my instagram account. Thank you.
