Help with list idea for World Cinema

I'm not sure how most people organize their lists but I keep a few hidden master lists so that I can quickly move from list to list.

I have been working on a few lists of films from specific countries. I thought it might be handy to have a public master list where other people could make recommendations.

Possible goals for this type of list:
1. Help members when creating personal favorites lists
2. Quickly see what types of list have been made and where there are might be gaps.
3. Easy access to flag graphics so members don't have to upload their own personal collection.

I'm not sure if anyone has run across how much of a pain it can be to find flag graphics that work with a white background. So, while I did find nice graphics. I am going through and adding shading to each image so that they are 'Listal friendly”. Figure if I'm going to do so much work on image flags that sharing them would make it worth the effort.

I'm thinking of keeping it as the three sections “General”, “Specific Countries” and misc images.

Or could spit it into “Europa” “Americas” and “Africa” but that leaves Australia and New Zealand off on their own... hum...

So, really I'm just tossing this idea out there. I want to make sure I'm not stepping on anyone’s toes and can really use any advice or suggestions anyone might have. Thanks

LOL, OK, this may seem like an ironic post as there haven't been any other posts made on this thread but I wanted to thank everyone for their help with the list. It actaully hasn't been as much of a headache as I thought it might be. So, yes... I really have had lots of help :)

I'm sure there is tons of lists to add in the future but for now it is public. It also isn't really 'my list'. I'm just the html monkey who created some ground work.

Any'who Since we now have the ability to make lists of lists. I'm going to start moving information from the World Cinema Lists on other lists.

I guess my question would be how best to divide the lists.

World Cinema Listed by Country
World Cinema Listed by Language

I was thinking of listing Award showcases but think that a master list of all the Awards lists might be a better idea.

Thoughts, ideas, random jokes, funny cat images?

The awards list idea is pretty good! I will do it if you don't mind. I won't add the Academy awards since there are so many of them and I wouldn't know which one to add but we'll see. Keep you updated!

Would you mind horribly changing the view to Standard list and not Collage view? Think it is easier to read and will give a bit of uniformity to the lists. I'll wrap up mine today... having pain related issues today so... taking lots of naps and being lazy ;)

Even though I have a weak spot for the collages, I have updated the layout as you requested. Also gave you the rights to the list so you can add stuff yourself directly.

Ha, thanks... I felt like sort of an ass for asking. I know it is just my personal OCD about uniformity. So... thank you for humoring me.

I don't think I'm going to do a list for Genres just because all I had was horror film lists. Not too many "My Favorite Romantic Subtitled Films". I think I have my hands full with the Horror Genre as it is so... best to keep a little bit of a focus.

The obvious snag I have run into is that on the previous list I gave some countries with no lists an entry spot... that isn't going to work with the new feature. So... might just have to figure out a list just for all the other flag images.

So, yep... taking my time but it will get done soon. Thanks again for the support. Once I have Volume Two done I'll make you editor. Your more active on Listal and I'm sure see many things that I miss.

Jaytoast..I changed my AFI/Oscar/Golden Globe lists to standard view...looks much better. The collage view really does mess with the eyes. I plan on adding more lists from previous years to those lists. It's going to look nice and spiffy.

I think, indeed, that the collages are rather hype right now but after everyone have made 100 lists like this, we will get tired of them and go back to some more practical layouts.

I'm taking my time with the second world cinema list. There should be an update to the List of List feature so that people can add them to other Lists of Lists. Since there are quite a few lists linked to the previous versions I want to hold off until people can make the change easily.
