Having trouble " dropping " photos...

myfavefilms215 15 years, 3 months ago at Jan 11 21:45 -
I'm sitting here for 10 minutes ( while making a list ) attempting to drop the photo so I can post it on my list and I drop it down and click and it just goes right back to the top. Drop, click, goes back up, etc. It's not staying where it should be. Always goes back to it's original position.
Is there something I am doing wrong ? Any suggestions ? It worked for one list and then not my current one. Appreciate it.

Do you mean that you're trying to rearrange items in a list? Or are you trying to drop one item into a list you've just made?

This is frustating ! I'm creating a list and I'm trying to drop one item into a list. Over and over, I drop it down and click and it just goes back to the top. :( !!!

Don't click on the item. Simply drag it down and it should stay in place. Also, make sure that you're dragging it down to its allocated spot, otherwise it will pop back up to the top again. If neither of these suggestions work for you, then yes, try another browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.).

Well I have already made one list and it worked then. Now it's giving me problems. I know what spot the photo should be in. As for using another browser, I have never tried that. Forgive my ignorance but how is that done when you're already on the listal website ? Thanks for the replies btw.

I would assume you're using Internet Explorer as your browser (the program you use to access the internet). Internet Explorer is the standard browser for any Microsoft operating system (2000, XP, Vista, etc.). However, there are other browsers available for download, like Mozilla Firefox (one I use and highly recommend) that have less security holes and are easier to use. Firefox is free to download and is available at www.mozilla.com.

Just curious, are you trying to add more items to your "Top 10 acting performances in the last 20 years" list? If so, there's an easier way to do that...

Try going to the person's page (e.g. www.listal.com/person/johnny-depp ) and using the "Add to list:" function (under the lists section), after a second person has been added to the list it will probably be easier to add more using the drag/rearrange function.

Thanks I'll try it.

350... to ansewr your question, yes I am. For some reson the Daniel Day-Lewis landed just fine. But I have 9 other actors to add. Not to mention about 20 other categories later on. I haven't tried the other browsers so I am goiong to try that now. But feel free to tell me the easier way if you want.

Tom actually answered that question for you...

OK. So you're making a list of actors. Let's say your next entry is going to be Denzel Washington (just for example). Do a search for Denzel Washington at the top in the search bar, just make sure you've selected "Actors" from the drop box. Once you're at his page, there's an option to add him to a list. That option is right below the List section, located right under the photo section on the left-hand side; it says "Add to list:". Select the title of the actor list that you're making from the drop box and then click on the "Add to list" button next to it. You should be brought automatically to your list, with that person now included in it.

You should use this method to add more items to a list, it's much easier. That drag and drop thing is really only used for the first item you add to a list. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, send me a message. :)

I donยดt usually do drag and drop, i go to the item page and select "add to list" and choose it. BUT using drag and drop, donยดt just drag the pic and let go... drag it a bit to the left or right. sometimes when i drag down to fast, it goes up again =)

But to be honest the best way to do it its like Tom said.

I did it. Better than nothing, but I wish there was a way I could post a photo to the thespian who's movie they were in. I have tried multiple ways, and it will not let me drop the photos. It just goes right back to the top. Strange. The browser has nothing to do with being able to drag a photo. As you can see, I seemed to have done alright with my first list. I tried to e-mail the owner of the site and his e-mail came up undeliverable.

Which email did you use? There is no need to email though since I am the owner of the site and I can reply on here. Are you still having problems now there are more people in the list and is the problem with every actor you try to add to the list?
