11 years ago at Apr 8 20:19 - I've been on this site for a little over three months now and I'm nice to everyone I come across. Recently one of the more outspoken members quit and then came back. I noticed it because other members made lists about it and it seemed like a lot of people were just piling on that person. So when that person came back I simply said welcome back and I'm glad you're back.
Now a couple of weeks later this person made a " My Friends Are The Best" list, which to my surprise I was on. I've only interacted with this person maybe three or four times briefly so I'm not sure why I was on that list, it was still a very nice gesture. Then all of a sudden all sorts of hate came pouring down. I got a couple of private messages saying if I stay friends with this person I'll get blocked by most everyone else. Which is more than likely untrue and idiotic and if it were true I wouldn't stop being friendly to anyone just because others didn't like it.
I joined this site for one reason to have fun. I like keeping track of movies I've seen and checking out what other people like. I rarely look at the forums so I guess I just ignore other members drama. I was wondering if someone could explain why this certain person (meganfan) gets so much hate?

11 years ago at Apr 8 22:18 - Where to begin... okay, I'll start with saying that all those messages/threats you received are ridiculous and unfair. I knew people were blocking everyone on that Friends list, but actually messaging and being mean is uncalled for.
Now for why everyone hates meganfan. It basically comes down to this: she's a consistent rule breaker. She posts images that are against rules, she copies lists from other users (sometimes just the idea, but often every single person/image on it), she's made dozens of fake accounts for the single purpose of voting for her own lists and those of her friends, she spams people's profiles to get other votes, etc. She's also always been completely rude to the moderators if they step in and try to prevent her rule breaking.
There are quite a few of her little buddies that will tell you she's the sweetest person they know. But I haven't seen an ounce of sweetness, personally. Not that I've ever been kind to her myself -- but with all the crap she's pulled, I don't feel the need to. And neither does the majority of the site, by this point. Everyone pretty much just wants her gone, because everything she puts on the site is stolen, crappy, or unfairly promoted with fake accounts. She's proven to be completely obsessed with getting points, and has shown no sign of actually caring about quality content.

11 years ago at Apr 8 23:26 - @FG93, no it's cool the messages weren't angry or mean, they were more friendly warnings that being friends with her would make me unpopular on this site. One was from a person on my friends list who simply didn't want me to fall to the dark side of the Force, LOL.

Like Maggie, it's hard for me to turn the other cheek with regards to her and her actions. It's just not right; so I don't associate with her anymore.
Anyone who would block You simply for being named on that list though is missing out on knowing one hell of a decent guy. Keep your head up, my friend. :)

Nowadays, you have some specific gangs : the pro-meganfan, the anti-meganfan, the anti-carryonbuff, the pro-moderators, the anti-moderators, the anti-porn, the so-called pro-liberty AKA I-want-to-put-as-much-naked-ladies-I-want,... Those gangs can be pretty mean to each other and you just happened to be in the middle and that really sucks. You wanted to become a friend with meganfan, so what? You seem to be friendly guy and people should first get to know you before talking to you like this. Your message is a good example about how bad the mood in this website right now and I hope it will improve soon....
