God real or not?

Useless topic.

Now these are my views, so feel free to take them with a pillar of salt. I'm Protestant and it's one of the most defining aspects of my being, to which I relate all my other interests and world views.

I think God is real for many reasons. Many people struggle with their perceptions of what is truth, justice, or even reality itself (I have). The conclusion I reached was that there are those who try to distort things so that human kind finds themselves ambiguous on many issues which by all common sense they should agree on (making people feel righteous in their racism, apathetic in their greed, and hateful to those of differing views - admittedly, within a church itself). So the thought that is the most comforting to me - the idea that God loves me and forgives me and has a place for me - thus seems more real for its consistency and for not trying to screw with my head but opting instead to shape me as a human being, which I welcome despite what it takes to grow.
