Just a friendly reminder: If you live in the States and are of the age, go vote! Most polling places close pretty late, but it's best to get it done as early as possible. Don't let long lines or weather deter you from casting a ballot. This is a very important presidential election - get that vote in!

What time does it all close in the U.S.?

Each state has different polling times. Here is a link for anyone interested in what their state looks like as far as poll times go. Here in Missouri polls close at 8 PM (EST).
Nation-wide polling will be wrapped up around midnight. We most likely won't know the results until late into the night or early morning.

Me too, got my fancy little "I Voted" sticker too. And no worries, Gem, I didn't vote for the "fat, nearly dead racist". ;)

I can't vote because I live in Canada (eh?) but will watch the live coverage tonight on Daily Show & Colbert Report. Should be a bloody HOOT!

I voted: www.betalistal.com/viewimage/260101

LOL Every vote counts, Tom. ;p

I live in a red state but went out and voted Democrat anyways knowing full well it would be a long shot that my vote would play a difference and after seeing the results I was right, Every single county in my state went McCain. :(
Even if you're a hardcore cynic you should vote. Just remember many people have died so we can have this right and the least we can do is take a few hours every four years to put it to use to show they didn't die in vain.
Here's to the next four years. :)

An interesting look at how the nation voted courtesy of USA Today:
Red states indicate those that McCain won and blue states indicate those that Obama won. White states indicate "undecided".
As of this morning, North Carolina (the white state on the East Coast) went to Obama after counting absentee and provisional ballots. He came ahead with 49.9% against McCain's 49.5%. The other white state, Missouri (my state), is still "undecided". At this point Obama has 49.3% to McCain's 49.5%. Unbelievably close!
And don't feel bad, Earthbound, nearly every single county in my state voted red except for the metropolitan areas (St. Louis and Kansas City) and Boone County (Columbia, my home town). That's the Midwest for ya, though - or even the South for that matter. :/

Jesus Christ, I wonder how Obama still won looking at the 2nd diagram you posted up.
