Games you regret playing

Here's a piece of music set the mood on this topic.

Phantasy Star Portable:
It was fun in first few hours but it gets old very quickly. The gameplay is boring with no variety anywhere. The mission are this, just kill this thing, that's it even in the story missions, it's the same. The AL in the NPC are not very good and at times, they don't do a darn thing. in the brighter parts, you can switch classes when you like, voice acting is decent, and their's a good customization on your person. It won't be so bad if they add some variety to do but it doesn't, it is just a boring, tedious, mediocre game I ever played in my life and this is coming from someone that like debatable games with repetitive in it like Persona 3, Pandora's Tower, Dot Hack, and Pokemon. At least those games have more to it to make them enjoyable in my opinion but this doesn't.

The only games I regret playing are MMOs, even the ones I uninstalled after a few hours.
I can't say I regret playing any single player game. When I got bored, I quit.

Wolfenstein for the Xbox 360. The game was a mediocre and generic shooter. I was furious that near the last level there was a game breaking bug that froze the game.

There are a couple of games I got burned on, paying full retail then swearing off gaming forever each time. The worst were PC games as they were harder to sell used than console titles.
Not listing titles because it would be like picking scabs.
As much as I like to support the small guy, that philosophy doesn't apply to video games. There's a reason big games get multi-mullion dollar production budgets. Then we can only hope they live up to the expectations!

I played a game called "Outlander" on the SNES and persisted until I almost finished the game.
It was supposed to be a Mad Max game, but turned out to be so bad, that the Mad Max license was withdrawn at the last moment. So they released the game under the title "Outlander".
I had no fun playing the game, yet I kep playing it, for some unknown reason.

Three games come instantly to my mind: Kane & Lynch:Dead Men, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and KISS: Psycho Circus. Kane & Lynch:Dead Men have the distinct award of being one of the single biggest let downs in my gaming career. (Devil May Cry 2 has the distinct award of being the biggest letdown, in my opinion.) Sure there are worst games out there, but this hurt me terribly for some reason. The other two games, honestly, I didn't expect much.

I don't regret playing any game. If I don't like it I don't play it. But I have regretted buying some games a few times.

I regretted buying Sherlock Holmes Vs. Jack The Ripper approximately three minutes in.

Haha! Hopefully you didn't purchase it form Gamestop because you could not even return the damn thing!

No I got it at EB Games, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I might give the game another chance first.

SpiceWorld, but I got it free with in a week of launch, Babbadges were giving them away, nobody wanted them.

I most definitely regret wasting my money on Lollipop Chainsaw. The game was just annoying with menu and pause navigation page, even the music didn't help. I got bored of playing it after 5 min in the game, it's pretty much the same thing over and over.

Yeah mumorpogahs like shini said. Also browser "strategy" games. At least i never spent much money on them. Its the damn promise of fun in the future which really is not there.

I just thought of another one: Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon. What a terrible game! I wonder if Bruce Lee's estate sued for defamation of character?

I am surprised no one has mentioned Diablo III yet. Fuck Jay Wilson and fuck Blizzard for that abomination. Even with the recent Heart of the Swarm I can't forgive them for how horrible Diablo III was.

Assassin's Creed and Halo 3.

If these series are bad games, just let it go.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 1&2, Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012, Duke Nukem Forever, Kayne & Lynch Dog Days ( absolutelly terrible optimisation and AI in my opinion ) The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct and many others but this are the last one I remeber as pretty lame.

I recently gave up Assassin's Creed 3. I'm not from the US, so the constant flag waving got right on my nerves (I played as far as sequence 8). And it didn't help that Ubisoft forgot to give Connor a personality. I knew of the setting before buying the game, but I wanted to experience the game for myself. It's the first game in the series that I didn't finish.
Normally I don't just give up, through sheer bloody mindedness I finish the game, but AC3 is an exception.

I don't think I've ever regret playing a game. I think you can take away something valuable from a bad or even terrible game.
The better question is if I've ever regretted buying a game. The answer is yes... I can't believe I shelled out as much as I did for a mint black label Crash Bandicoot. That game did NOT age well, not at ALL.

I regreat play Breath of Fire 2, the worst of all five (yeah, worst than the last one). By another hand, if I didn´t played Breath of Fire 2 I couldn´t say that I know, played all of them, it´s the only reason I played.

2 words "shaq fu"
i played this thing and beat the game, but man.... i just don't wanna talk about
it anymore hahaha

Skullgirls, really disliked the game. Seems like one giant rip-off of Darkstalkers series.
