Games for PS3??

I dont understand what games should be bought for the new ps3..the disadvantages are:
1) They are soooo expensive
2) Graphics are not sooo good as compared to the expectations it actually brought in
If at all..tell me any decent game..which could be overwhelmed by this console..plz
thnx :)

Let's see, by December of this year, the platform will be about a year old, give or take. It usually takes at least a year for the game developers to start getting a feel for the hardware and produce better looking games. The PS3 Cell processor is supposed to be a royal pain to program, not to mention other hardware issues that also make a programmers life difficult.
Good games (graphics notwithstanding) are another issue. You can always check out IGN for game reviews; gamefaqs.com and kotaku might be useful too.

Pretty decent reply, the problem which i actually am facing at the moment is that, not many games have been introduced, the ones which have been brought in, are either too expensive, or the same as PS2 profiled ones.
I am sooo confused as to which one to purchase because i don't prefer buyin unplayed or unheard games. So just wanted to take an opinion from others.
You are absolutely right about the time interval which ofcourse is gonna bring in good games, but i am sooo anxious, i just got the PS3. errrr :P
What would you prefer?

Well, you could side step the issue for the moment and buy good PS2 games that'll run on it (they're not all compatible and I'm not sure where to find a compatibility list). Otherwise, try to find reviews of games you're interested in and do your research before buying and/or try to stick to used games (which can still be relatively pricey, just not as pricey as new).

Yeah, that is right..but dont u think..running the PS2 games on the new console would be kinda risky..i mean..isnt that gonna spoil it? ofcourse i'll buy the original ones..but how can i be sure tht this new processor can withstand them..nothing could be said bout these systems..

Not having owned a PlayStation in my life and not really knowing what types of games you are into, this is a hard question. What makes it even more difficult is the fact that not a lot of games are actually out for it yet. I took a look at what is currently available for it according to Wikipedia, and nothing really looked that interesting. Scanning the list though, I did see the new Sonic game, which truth-be-told, is the only game I would pick up if I was interested in the system at all. If I were you, I would check GameSpot and look in the PS3 section for games similar to ones you already know and like.

The only thing risky about running PS2 games on the PS3 is that they may not run. I haven't heard anything about them bricking consoles.

They really do, i've personally ruined so many of my consoles :( the country i live in contains more stores/people selling duplicate stuff, believe it or not its hard atimes taking notice of the actual cd itself.
One question:
In your countries what percantage would u give to the release of PS3 games at the current situation?

Ah, yes, bootlegs have their issues.
I think there's usually at least one or two new PS3 games released every month (probably more than that, I don't keep close track). That amount will increase as we get closer to holiday season.
