Friend requests

What do you do when you get a friend request from a Listal member you never interacted with?
Approve anyway? Deny? Do nothing? Say hi e ask? Check compatibility %?

well i add them to be nice and i think of it as they seen one of my lists or something and decided to add me

i know when i first started i added a lot of people some the top ranked in the site and some new members. new friends is always a good thing=D

That would usually bring a list/pic vote or comment, and start some interaction, though :)

I usually accept just about anyone. It's not like they can unlock any private information if you weren't on your friends list. Is it?

Honestly I accept anyone and everyone. I've only ever requested one myself for sure, maybe two if I'm forgetting someone. The rest are people just requesting me as a friend, and I really don't mind. I don't really think of it as a friends list though, even though that's what it says. It's more of just a 'connections' list to me. I don't like to actually follow that many people (and honestly the people I follow are more who I consider friends than who's on my friends list, with the exception of a couple) so it's nice to have another way to stay tied to people. That's not to say that I'm interested in the content of all my friends, but there are several who I'll go check out once in awhile. The rest are just there because I don't mind having them there, and if they're doing the same thing as me (keeping me as a friend so they can follow my stuff without actually following me) then that's fine too.

I don't accept any request from people if there has been little to no contact with. For the most part I find the friends feature to be pointless. Except for providing me with a 'contacts rating' on books and films. It also sort of makes it easier to message someone back and forth but aside from that the "follow" feature is far more useful of a tool for me personally.

I don't reject people to be mean or anti-social. I just don't see the point. I think if there were more functions that came with adding someone as a friend I might be more inclined to add people. I have been friends with someone for years without realizing that never of us has ever sent a friend request.

Like if there was a "Social Tab" that worked like Facebook's wall or something I think would be rather cool is to have a some kind of Google+ page on the Listal site. So, the Social Tab" would give you a Google+ wall. You could post comments as display all your activity feed. Anyways, that is just a pipe dream and really... really off the point of the topic.
