Foreign Language Support

Hi there. I added a couple of items to my CD collection that have Korean titles. I input them in Hangeul and after I entered a few, I noticed that the Korean text was coming up just as a series of question marks. Is there no support for foreign languages/non-Roman writing systems? It's worked in the past for videos I've entered, like this one:

www.listal.com/viewproduct/dvds/188286

but it seems to have broken here:

Also, are the messed up Korean titles fixable, or will I have to re-enter the titles again? How can I make the Hangeul work consistently?

Thanks!

It should be supported, when did you add the second one?

I need to add editing so you can edit it.

I added the first one some weeks ago, and the second one last night.

It might be that I had the page display encoded in Unicode, but entered the text with Hangeul input. I'll try another Korean CD and adjust the encoding of the page and see what the result is...

It still doesn't work when I use Hangeul input on a page loaded in Unicode (same product entered again):

www.listal.com/viewproduct/music/803502

And even when I load the page in Korean encoding and input, it's mashed. Which is weird, since my webmail is handling my Korean inputs fine. Any ideas?

Whoops, half that message is missing, sorry.
I entered the product on a page encoded in unicode:

and in Korean encoding:

and it failed both times.

It shouldn't be a Linux issue, should it? I'll try (later tonight) adding the files in Korean on my Windows dual boot and see, though. Who knows?

Yeah, Tom, no matter what encoding I use, and no matter whether I'm entering Korean text in Windows or in Linux, I'm getting the same result.

I entered the info four times, just to test it out. You can see the four results in the newest albums in my music profile:

And for that matter, I can't get Bjork's name to display with the o-umlaut, even. Is there something broken in the area of foreign language support, or is it something I'm doing? I've tried every encoding choice I have, and anything but basic roman letters is displayed weirdly...

I have a similar problem - I've added some czech books several months ago. But then you did some changes with encoding and it have broken all characters with accents.

You can see them here: onesork.listal.com/all/books/1/?tag=czech

Do you plan an ability to rename books/authors/everything?

I'm glad to know it's not just me!

A fix to the encoding itself would be nice. Though my Korean films are all still showing up okay...

Which makes me really wonder what was changed, and how.

Ok it seems to be working now for new database input, hopefully I will add editing soon so old things can be corrected.

์˜ค์˜ˆ!

(Oh yeah!)

Thanks for the fix. I look forward to the added editing feature, but I recommend it only be enabled for items that were added manually -- else havoc could be wreaked on the stuff that was imported from elsewhere... :)

By the way... um...

I'm able to enter Korean text in the movie section. My most recent DVD entry is a Korean film:

www.listal.com/viewproduct/dvds/194149

But I still can't enter Korean text in the music section. So maybe something is set differently in the music section?

I'm also wondering whether editing will be allowed sometime soon, or not. (I'd rather wait to enter the rest of my Korean movies and music until later, unless editing is sure to be added.)

Also, it's only the title entry field in Music that is choking on Korean text. Korean text in the performer field is fine:
