I've had a similar problem in the past. A new version of MySQL had come out and they'd changed the default collation to Swedish if I remember rightly. When my host upgraded it caused all kinds of problems with stored characters that had previously worked. I had to change the collations for the db and each table to UTF-8, and then run a find and replace for the broken characters.
No idea if this is any use to you!

18 years, 5 months ago at Nov 10 23:55 - Well this site was set to utf8 encoding before but a few days ago i changed it to default as Amélie seem to work with that.
I also changed all the database columns to utf8 recently.
I think I will just updated everything from amazon soon and hopefully that will sort out any problems.
