Firefox 3 Released

Just a reminder to those that use Firefox and don't know that Firefox 3 is released today at 10am PDT (17:00 UTC).

Also if you can, please try to download it from mozilla.com within the first 24 hours as they are trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most downloaded program in 24 hours.

So please download it from the site and only one download per computer to stay legitimate.

I will be downloading, I hope most of my extensions still work.

I've got it, and seems to be fine, so far. For the first time, I'm even using bookmarks, too.

(and your extensions should still work - most will be updated already, or will be soon)

It would be ironic if they failed in their record bid because all the people trying to download it crashed their site!

Just picked it up, my mouse gestures aren't working, but everything else seems legit. No doubt I'll stumble across some new features in the coming days, so far all I see is a new skin!

Did you try typing something in the address bar yet?

Not sure I like the address bar yet, it seems to come up with some really random suggestions for urls, it seems to get better once I've visited the sites though.

Tried to download it last night and it crashed during the installation..took down my recently installed Zoo Tycoon 2 Collection :(. Maybe I should just kill myself or even worse, use internet explorer *Hilarious joke o' the year Award*

i'm am working on downloading it now.

Looks like the record is going to be around 8 million download but the official score won't be know for a couple weeks as the judges need to sort through the data.

guys what is firefox? heard about it but never really knew what it was.

Its an internet browser. Something like Internet explorer.

I've never bothered with it. I heard it was a resource hog and thats the last thing I need on my crappy computer.

FF2 had a memory leak issue which really really bogged down your PC. FF3 is much better about it now. It's worth giving a shot. Firefox is my default browser, but like everything everything else, there are pros and cons.
