Fire Emblem

I always loved this series, challenging, time consuming, addicting, medievel based, it is a truly great series.

Sadly... I bought a PS2 and they have a kickass new Fire Emblem game for the Wii(Which I coulda gotten, but there wasn't any good games for the Wii) they added in a third tier of classes, a whole new group of Knife weapons, a better customization, a larger skill set AND a new race of Laguz... WOLVES!!!

I NEED this game... I NEED a Wii...

But, I was wondering if anyone knew if there MIGHT be a PS2 Fire Emblem game(Or something similar to it), because I can't find one, but that doesnt make me believe there isn't one(I have shitty searching skills, people always find things that I cannot...) anybody got any ideas?

I'm fairly sure Fire Emlbem is Nintendo made (SBBB), so I doubt it's for the PS2.

they're actually after N64. sealed sword came out around the time Melee did. Blzing sword came out 2003.

For a while all the games were pretty much Japan exclusive until their popularity in Super Smash Bros. Melee. At least that's when I first saw it :D
I don't think it really matters which game you start on first since the first one released internationally according to wiki was the seventh game in the series. But then again I'm no expert in games at all, least of it all Fire Emblem and tactical sorts of games. I kinda gave up after a while. ehehehe... I think I played the newer GBA version, something about sacred stones.

@Antagonist: i'd recommend Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for GBA first. they should make you familiar with the game mechanics and are just great games. if you want something more fancy for the eyes (but still using the same game mechanics as the GBA games) you should also play Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance for the gamecube, if you have one. but all in all it's not really necessary to play them in this order, or any of them previous to the wii game because the story is not interconnected.

Tell the truth, I have been waiting for Path of Radiance to go down in price since it was released. However, everywhere I see it sold it costs more than ยฃ30 which isn't acceptable for a game I am 'trying out'.

I do have a Gamecube. Thanks for the suggestions.

a quick google/ebay lookup shocked me. you are right, you can't find path of radiance under 30 pounds. it seems it's the gamecube's radiant silvergun regarding price, although i don't get why it is worth that much. it's not a rare title at all (but maybe it's the "radian" in the title)...

however, altough a good game (8/10) in my opinion you can live without it. i would get the GBA titles who are better anyway and get started. pm me if you have problems getting them too ;).

I dont know how it is elsewhere, but in my part of Canada, used Gamecube titles go for $15 to $35 while Xbox and PS2 titles fetch $5 to $15 tops. I think the popularity of the Wii and the fact all gamecube games can play on it has made used gamecube titles hot commodities.

And some rare titles, such as Mario Tennis or Zelda collection, can sometimes top $40 on ebay.
