As the "Queen of Sad Movies", I'm glad to see Finding Neverland was mentioned several times. I love to cry, the same way most people love scary movies or thrillers (which I don't particularly like). My "go to" movie, when I want a good cry is always Four Weddings and a Funeral. I can practically quote every line and start to tear up even before the sad part, because I know it's coming. Others I recommend are The Cure, Sliding Doors, The Little Princess, Six Weeks, Somewhere in Time, and the most melodramatic claptrap ever, but makes me ball for hours is It's My Party. Just to name a few.

I have to admit that, as a guy, I don't have too many. But here are a rare few that can make me misty.

5. Streetwise - A documentary with an emotionally wrenching ending, because it's real life & not a script. This film focuses those who are easily forgotten & brings to the surface their reality & all the drama & emotion that the world of escapism entertainment can never really compare to.

4. Fried Green Tomatoes - I like mine with a touch of salt & a dash of tabasco sauce.

3. Whale Rider - The main character in this movie triumphs over the ages old belief that in order to be a chieftain, one must be a male. And in the process, she makes both that old tradition and a whale her b#tchez.
Girl Power!

2. Bridges of Madison County - A truly romantic story of how the escapist fantasy high/feeling that initially results with falling in love must eventually be realistically dealt with as the conditions & responsibilities of one's current situation come quickly creeping back in. I once heard that, in the context of human history, couples pairing up for the sake of true love is still relatively young. We as a species over-all , have not evolved enough yet to be able to deal & accept each other in a manner that would be considered as unconditional love ( which is the only real love). And it is because of this that the world population has yet been unable to formulate an effective means of discussion that would truly begin a process of unity between it's racial, social & gender factions. And maybe this is why so many of us make decisions more for the sake of security, emotionally as well as socially & financially . Decisions that may impede on our ability to follow our hearts & therefore sway us , individually and socially, from a path that would lead us to true love before it's too late.

1. Joy Luck Club - I was supposed to take my girlfriend at the time to go see this movie, but she was one of those type of girls that in order to get attention, whenever I would call her to tell her that I was on my way to pick her up, she would always tell me to come right over, but that she couldn't guarantee that she would still wanta to go out when I arrived, cuz as always 4 her, she was feelin' like she was comin' down with some sort of sickness or somethin'. So, on this day, I had decided to that I had had enough, called her on her bluff, & then told her to that we would just skip the whole thing & she can stay home & get better ( what she actually wanted was for me to go "Aww, you poor thing!" & come over & "baby" her *eyes roll*). So then, I went to go see this movie by myself, just to p#ss her off. By the time this stunningly moving Oliver Stone epic-fare was over, I could feel that my eyes had actually become substantially watered.
Right there & then, I knew that my relationship with my girlfriend was over.
Cuz no one makes me cry my own tears.
No one.

Thor

When Loki makes Thor think his actions, his betrayal, led to Odin's death. You can see his spirit just break completely, utterly, when he finally realizes what an insufferable, arrogant jerk he's been the whole time. When he asks his younger brother if he can go home, and when Loki says no, he can never return, and that he's sorry, Thor replies with "No... I am sorry. Goodbye."

Also, later when he confronts the Destroyer as a mortal, knowing there is only one way to stop the rampage, fully ready and willing to die, ready to sacrifice his life for the lives of others, and he says "Brother, whatever I have done to wrong you so much, to lead you to do this, I, truly am sorry."

Then, as he lays dying in Jane's arms, you really see how far he's come, how deeply he has changed. The old Thor would have been enraged, blaming everyone but himself, throwing a major tantrum like he did in the beginning in the movie. But the new Thor, he accepts his fate with humility, happy that the last face he sees will be Jane's, his only regret, that he had to leave so soon and got to spend so little time with her.

I cry everytime I watch the ending of Field of Dreams when he finally meets his dad, its such a tearjerker but in a good way

At the end of 127 Hours I cried because of all the determination he had to get back to his family, and the music made it worse to cry

And The Godfather 2, when Michael and Fredo hug at the funeral and the music plays, it makes me cry everytime.
