Favorite Subtitled Film?

Acopalypto, produced by Mel Gibson. Rudy Youngblood

First of all, I'm gonna get in here now and say 'Brotherhood' before anyone else does. I entirely forgot I was reading subtitles. Thought I could speak Korean for a good deal of it.
Secondly; 'The Story of the Weeping Camel', has anyone else seen this? Its a mongolian docu/film about a white camel calf who's regected by its mother. I bought it for a joke; but ended up getting really into it.

I also enjoyed "The Passion Of The Christ"

I wish I could choose some important award winning film, but for all my all time favorite (the one I can watch again and again) I'd have to pick Hard-Boiled.
Directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun-Fat this is one amazing movie!

I can't pick one "subtitled" film since I watch nearly all my movies, whether it be my native tongue or not, with subtitles or closed captioning, if possible anyway. But I gotta say, Night Watch has one of the best (english) subtitles I've seen on an American release.

Uhm... You know they're all subtitled over here. Except Finnish movies, and children's animations (which are dubbed). So we're completely used to subs, they don't feel like an eyesore or anything, and you learn how to ignore them as well if the translation sucks. The Continental tradition of dubbing everything weirds me out though. Have you witnessed Polish dubbing? It's just one guy reading everyone's lines, with the original lines still there but muffled.
So my fave subtitled film is also "my favourite film of all time" that is "Time of the Gypsies"

LOL, that's what I was thinking. It's the only one I've seen.
Well, technically I watch every movie with subtitles.

Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow in Japanese(with english subs!)^^

Kind of a split between Pan's Labyrinth and Yojimbo

Pan's Labyrinth! forgot about that one! man, i totally forgot i was reading subs. it just sucks you right in.

Either Pan's Labyrinth or Gojira (called by its Japanese name to seperate it from the Perry Mason edit, 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'). Though all most people associate with Godzilla is campy suitimation, Gojira was a heavy, relevant release for Japan in 1954. A monster released from a deep sea cleft by nuclear activity? Let the gargantuan, apocalyptic symbolism say the rest.

The Night Watch series reads pretty well tooI know! I normally don't dig animated subs but they did it really well.

House of Flying Daggers just love the whole story and effects to the movie it was amazing.

Its a toss up between The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Time and Tide. Also Run lola Run. Almost forgot that one.

I have the story of the weeping camel, but never bothered to watch it...

Akira would be up there. Hero is a breath taker. I also loved Brotherhood. I preferred The Devil's Backbone to Pan's Labyrinth as well.

"The Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"
that's my favourite subtitled movie.
that's my favourite subtitled movie.

Run lola Run was great and House of Flying Daggers

Yeah... but I liked Hoodwinked the most.

Hoodwinked? That isn't subtitled...and I thought that "Piaf" or "La Vian Rose" was the best. French, with Hungarian subs.

Brotherhood rings true when I think of my favourite sub. These are Some Classics too. I plan to get a few more under my belt before the year is out. I plan to go for some listed in this thread!

Ho ho ho, some shameless self-promotion, generally in order of favourite to lesser favourite.

I watched the 'Science of Sleep' recently was pretty good and 'The Devil's Backbone'.
I wish England made more beautiful films like that, instead of just 'gritty' ones.
