Quantum of Solace news is starting to come out as the release draws near and so it's time for the obvious poll of who is everyone's favorite Bond.
Best:
Sean Connery: 11
Roger Moore: 11
Timothy Dalton: 4
Pierce Brosnan: 3
Daniel Craig: 2
George Lazenby: 0
Worst:
Timothy Dalton: 12
Daniel Craig: 8
George Lazenby: 6
Roger Moore: 3
Pierce Brosnan: 1
Sean Connery: 1
Personally I'm a Roger Moore fan, I mean Connery was a great bond but Moore was a much more suave Bond.

It's a really tough call. I love both Connery and Moore...
If I had to choose, I'd go with Moore. More suave, like you said.
So -
Roger Moore: 2
Sean Connery: 0
George Lazenby: 0
Timothy Dalton: 0
Pierce Brosnan: 0
Daniel Craig: 0
(just to keep track of the votes)

Uber, what if you expand it and have Best and Worst Bond?
For best, i always had a hard time choosing between Moore and Connery, but now that I've seen Craig, i want more of him, so even though it was just one film, I think the ultimate Bond portrayal so far has been the one by Daniel Craig. He's missing the charisma of Connery and the humor that Moore seemed to bring in, but he took the idea of the ultimate spy to the next level by going in a lot more physical and 'tough guy' direction.
For worst (if you make one or add to this one), I'd have to say Timothy Dalton. ugh.. do i really need to give a reason?

Okay, lets make it best and worst Bond.
While I do like Craig so far I don't think he'll ever be consisted one of the best because really the last Bond film was to reboot the series and are now centering around Bond being the ultimate spy in order to compete against the Bourne films. Or maybe I'm just crazy.
But I do agree with you on Dalton, worst Bond yet.

Yes, Lazenby only had one shot at it but Dalton was consistently bad.

Favorite: Connery although I enjoyed the rest as well with the exception of Dalton, including Lazenby.
Least Favorite: Dalton... His two Bond films were decent action movies but terrible Bond films. Dalton was just not James Bond.

I return to this thread after the comment of tad to explain my choices. It took me almost two months. Sorry!
The first Bond film I ever watched was Licence to Kill in 1990 and I really liked it, so it worked as a point of reference. The Living Daylights wasn't bad either. Most people believe that Timothy Dalton's Bond was too human, less Bond or not James Bond as Gauntlet put it, but that suits to me. It doesn't mean I don't like Sean Connery's or Roger Moore's less vulnerable character. I like both for different reasons because they gave a different but distinctive Bond.
My less favorite is Pierce Brosnan because I think that he tried too hard to be something between Connery's and Moore's Bond without bringing something new to the role. He was actually indifferent for me.

Sean Connery is the Bond, Roger Moore was a good bond as well, Pierce Brosnan was OK. As for the other 2 I watched their movies a long time ago, but I guess the worst would be Dalton, Lazenby in my memories was OK in the movie.

Timothy Dalton.
All I need to say : Dalton is Bond.
I really respect the man in the fact that he actually read the Bond books before filming The Living Daylights. He had an understanding of the character that other actors have lacked. (Maybe not Craig and Lazenby). He could play every ascpect of Fleming's original Bond character and he nailed it every single time. What particularly stands out for me is Daltonโs ability to portray the loneliness of the character.

Best: Dalton
Worst: Lazenby
- Craig is playing Jason Bourne in Jason Statham-lite movies. The sooner he leaves the role, the better.
- Brosnan was to smug & smarmy.
- Moore couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag, and did at least 7 films too many. AVTAK being the absolute worst Bond film in the cannon.
- Lazenby was useless as Bond.
- Connery was not as bad as the others, and nowhere near as good as Dalton. Though haing a collection of different coloured wigs didn't help.

Whoa, I'm a little behind...
Alright added the new votes and I'll remind you all that for me to count your votes you need to vote for both your favorite and worst actor that portrayed Bond (that means you stormrhyder, dbutler69, Citizen Caine, and Dave.)

For me, the best is a toss up between Roger and Sean. But I think I'll have to go with Roger Moore.
For the worst, I'll go with Daniel Craig. I don't like Dalton that well either, but at least I like the films he did better than Graig's.
I think for a lot of people, which one they like best tends to be dependent on which actor they saw as Bond first. My first Bond film was Live and Let Dieand I was hooked on Bond films from then on.

Best - Connery with Craig poised to close the gap with a couple more good showings.
Worst - Dalton, lack of charisma, poor movies and victim of a lull in the bond franchise.
Dalton was good in hot fuzz

For me, my favorite Bonds, are Sean Connery, Pierce Bronsan, Timothy Dalton, Daniel Craig, Roger Moore, and George Lazenby.
As for, the worst Bond? For me, there is no worst Band, just one that was the most mixed bag, and as that was Roger Moore.
Lazenby, was just ok, but not bad but just ok.
