Export ratings to IMDb

renan 12 years, 2 months ago at Feb 17 15:44 -
Hello!

I've been using Listal for about 3 years now and it was my first site to catalogue the movies I've watched. At the same time I started a Listal account, I also discovered the icheckmovies site, and began to catalogue my movies there too.

As you may know, checking and rating movie per movie I've ever watched takes a huge time, and doing it in 2 sites was really tiring. So, 3 years ago I didn't like the IMDb layout (I still don't like), but I really would like to contribute with my ratings now and, as I believe, it is less likely to lose them since it's the biggest site with this porpose.

So, I wondered: is it possible to export my Listal ratings to IMDb? If not, is there a way the team could make it happen? I believe it would be very useful for another users such as it would be very useful for me.

Thanks for the attention! Please answer me back.

That would be useful for me too, but I don't think IMDb has any Import feature, or at least I don't know it.

You can export all your rating information from any area (movies,tv,books, games)

www.listal.com/user/export

This will give you an rss feed of all of your ratings in that area. Warning: This will take a long time to load. Then you can right click on that and 'save as' file type you chose.

Now, the problem is finding a site where you can import that information.

I would like to be able to export and import some of my lists to ether IMDb or iCheck. Especially the lists that that I have where I'm trying to watch all the films on the list.

In theory can be done using the 'rss feed' function on any list. Alas, IMDb and iCheck don't have any import functions for ratings or for lists.
