was the end of LOST dissapointing?

I thought the whole series should've been planned out better... It seemed like the writers were just making it up as they went. Supposedly everyone on the plane being dead was planned out from day one - even the actors knew it - but I don't think they made much effort getting from point A to point B.

it was shit.
first and last chance i give to JJ Abrams.

Yeah .. It was kind of disappointing .. but I guess all the great previous episodes cover for that ..

Lost took away a big chunk of my life I'll never get back.
The rule is now self-evident: The bigger the hype, the bigger the let down.
In future, I'll let a series play out without going out of my way to watch it. If at the end everyone says, "Wow", I'll buy the DVD box set when it comes out.
Anyway, isn't Lost kinda ancient history now?

@PK: Everyone on the plane wasn't dead though.
@Toa: So we are only allowed to talk about stuff that is happening right now or in the future?

^ They weren't?
I guess I won't beat myself up for failing to comprehend plot details to a series like Lost.

I knew straight after seeing the finale that people would hate it. No one was going to be satisfied with any possible ending they were given due to the extreme hype it was given. Everyone expected a big twist, one that would completely blow their minds. Instead what they got wasn't about the twist, but an emotional final scene that completed and respected the story arcs of the cast. I loved it. But people didn't want that. People didn't care about LOST's story, or it's characters, or it's dramatic value, people just wanted to see how this show could live up to its hype, and they believed that the hype lay within its "Anything could happen" style.

Yes, but not because I expected more answers or a twist. I just didn't watch Lost to see mushy emotional scenes with people literally patting each other on the back so I found the finale surprising in a bad way. In fact I don't even remember most of it, that's how distracted I was by the unexpected cheesiness.

Lost wasn't difficult to understand PK, if you didn't get it that doesn't make it a bad program.
The ending was great, made sense and did not end with "They were dead all along" you'd have to have paid no attention what so ever to the finale to get that impression.

It wasn't. Everyone of my friends who loved Lost and most of the opinions made me had very low expectations on it, guess what? I loved it and cried like a bay by the end. Made sense and makes the viewers (who were into the show and characters) reflect on the whole series and not only.

The ending was pretty solid. They didn't have to answer EVERYTHING, God forbid people actually thinking about a show.

Abrams pulled that straight from his ass. If that is what qualifies as intellectual thought..yikes.haha

Didn't like the endindg at all too say the least. FOr weeks they pumped up the final episode. "All Your Questions will Be Answered" None of my questions were answered. I watched the show from day one, and with each episode the series got stranger and stranger, to the point towards the end I was daying WTF alot. Ive seen better Series finales

Kinda reminds me of the series finale of 'Twin Peaks'.

I definitely agree with jay-jay on this one...
From the second season, Lost was just a succession of non-sense and absurd twists. I mean, the whole 2nd season was about pressing a goddamned button! I loved the 1st season because even though there were some weird stuff, it was acceptable and I thought they would give some kind of reasonable explanation. ...Unfortunately, from then on, it just got worse with some time travelling, they even moved the island,... Eventually, maybe 80% of the weird stuff was never explained. From the 3rd season until the end, I kept watching just out of sheer curiosity what kind of weird stuff they will come up with but I sure didn't care at all about the story or the characters involved. It is pretty obvious the writers had no clue where they were going and got 'lost' a couple of times under way... The end wasn't disappointing, the whole thing from season 2 until the final episode was disappointing...
