Eating Habits

This is a thread that anyone with a pulse can surely contribute towards.
Anyone got any strange eating habits they want to divulge? Any ridiculous diets or strictly regimented eating patterns? What are your favourite foods and what are the most unconventional things that you eat?
I have a friend who lives off of the weirdest concoctions, including pasta with honey and yoghurt. What a weirdo!
Over to you.

I dip my toast in my tea sometimes, of course it ruins a good tea, so you have to have one for drinking and one for dipping...my nan used to do it, and I picked it up.
I have a friend who eats burger currys, I tried to tell him to buy beef instead, but he wouldnt hear it....sausage currys instead of pork as well if I recall correctly!! Madness.

Pork curry just doesn't seem to hit the right note anyway!
Sausage in a casserole, hmmmm....
My house mates and I held a 'toasty' party at the end of term to get rid of everyone's excess of bread and random edible items.
We had starter, main course and desert fillings of all varieties.
Wouldn't make that a regular feature in my diet though.

I usually freeze chocolate before I eat it. Mainly Twix'.
GA, you didn't divulge your habit/fetish
anyone for ketchup on scrambled eggs? dude, i totally love it for breakfast at dinnertime.

I have been told that adding Ketchup to a Pizza is wrong, but I can't see why?! It makes a Pizza perfect in my opinion, and I only add enough to compliment the flavor, instead of overriding it. Can't see whats wrong with a scrambled egg with ketchup either, its a pretty universal condiment.
Sausage Curry eh Lil? This friend of yours sounds like quite the culinary expert. I might try that! I hear it is what all the millionaires order when they visit Gordon Ramsay's restaurants.

I eat A LOT of salad.
Once, when I was too broke to buy groceries, all I had in my cupboard was a box of cornflakes and some apple cidar vinegar. I don't think I need to say any more... Desperate times call for desperate measures!

Hahaha, I can't stand dry cornflakes, so I understand your pain and need to apply the vinegar! Why you had apple cider vinegar in the first place is beyond me, but perhaps in future buy milk instead?!?!
Deleted user
Luckily I'm not as poor as I was back then and can certainly afford milk now. ;p
Deleted user
Haha, wish I could say the same! I certainly wont be resorting to Vinegar though, far to pricey to waste. I think I would have skipped breakfast that day!

Bleh I eat everything with rice and if that doesn't work I just pile on the MSG or ketchup. Ketchup + Rice + Spam is a favorite that also works well with Egg Omelet in lieu of Spam but BBQ Sauce + Rice is just as good too.
I just love to pile on the carbs. Soup, that's not good enough toss in rice! Mashed potatoes just aren't what they used to pour some rice into that. It's kinda the cure all for any meal.
I also tend to freeze my chocolate since it melts otherwise...
Apples with peanut butter is quite lovely as well, but Nutella is an excellent substitute.
In third grade I used to eat my folders too. But then I stopped when my folders started disappearing.

My nieces eat eggs with ketchup, and I ate it when I was their age too.
As for me, sandwiches. If it fits in between two pieces of bread I'll make a sandwich out of it.

For me, it's ketchup on grilled cheese. On one side on the outside (usually the darkest side, whichever that ends up being). I don't know why. My mum always did it, so I do, too. Can't eat it without.

Tomato Ketchup is such a poor man's condiment! There is such an array of other sauces that blow it out of the water, though it's not out of place with any ingredient of a fried breakfast.
Worcester, Hot Pepper or even Sweet Chilli sauces trump Tomato Ketchup on grilled cheese, for example!

okay dude (GA), i understand your feelings about ketchup, but have i got a product for you! my grocery store carries the organic ketchup that is incredible. i try to eat more organic these days (when i can, its a bit expensive and i do not have endless grocery funds). it is easily the best organic product i've ever bought. it's that good. my sis made fun of me for it... until she tried it herself.

I really don't eat much. It's just my appetite I guess.
But a couple times, I've made a baked potato and put A1 Steak Sauce in it. I have a slight addiction to steak sauce I guess.

I hear ya guys on the condiments. My refrigerator door is full of all kinds.
Chibi: Nutella is the best! I'm not a big fan of chocolate, but the hazelnut makes it delicious. I get a big bag of animal crackers and dip away! It's good on toast too. :)

Anyone else likes an occasional French Toast (or, as the french, call it, 'Toast') with salt sprinkled on it, rather than sweet syrup?
When i make French Toast, half of it I like with syrup, other half plain with just salt on it.
Must be a Czech thing. Us Czechs love salt. lol

I use Ketchup in lieu of salt but never in my french toast. I like my toast sweet tasting not salty. Nutella on toast... Now there's an idea.
Just about the only accepted Ketchup substitute is Banana Ketchup. Otherwise it works just fine for me. Though at times I do also use Mayo and Mustard. Sometimes BBQ sauce and Soy Sauce and that MSG laden crap but other than that yeah. Ketchup is good.
Which reminds me of that time I went to Canada. Damn! You Canadians have strange leanings. Ketchup flavored potato chips? That's just plain weird.

My french toast is a savoury affair, but rarely with salt.
Chibi: Rice mashed potato? Sounds interesting. We have a huge, unopened bag of rice in the kitchen and I may have to try that one. Also, us Brits have had tomato sauce (ketchup) flavoured crisps for years! I absolutely love them.
As for myself... I do eat the occassional pea or chip (fries to Americans) frozen before I start cooking them. I also hate spicy foods but will happily coat things in soy sauce or tomato sauce (though I'm growing out of that habbit). My diet is also growing increasingly vegetarian since moving in with my friend.

*shivers* frozen fries and ketchup flavored potato chips. That's just freakin' creepy.
Frozen cookie dough however gets a full seal of approval.

I like to dump chocolate chips in milk and then eat them with a spoon.
I'm also crazy for meat substitutes, since I don't eat the real thing. Morningstar Farms veggie corn dogs are definitely the jam.

I put malt vinegar on a lot of food, chicken, french fries, etc. Soggy vinegar-y goodness. Apple cidar vinegar and beets are good too.
I don't know what it is with me and vinegar, but I've got several different kinds at any given time. Inventory as of this moment: Apple cidar, white distilled, salad, balsamic and malt.
I know, I'm weird. :)

I don't think I have any weird eating habits.... I'm a little particular about mixing foods that I believe are meant for different meals or are contradictory.
"I usually freeze chocolate before I eat it."
"anyone for ketchup on scrambled eggs?"
"i put ketchup on macoroni and cheese."
"i sometimes eat french fries and ice cream. its pretty good :)"
I used to do all of those things. Not so much anymore, though. My roommate still pours ketchup and/or ranch dressing on just about everything she eats.
The only "odd" thing about my eating habits now are what I don't eat: vegetables. No carrots, no mushrooms, no lettuce, no tomato, no onion, no peppers, etc.
I eat meats, dairy, poultry, grains, but little to no vegetables. Everyone I know finds it kinda strange. *shrugs*

I have a few that might explain why I'm crazy =P
Whenever i go to a fastfood resturaunt(hardly ever), i get a blizzard/Mc Flurry or whatever, and french fires. Thats all I get because I love to dip my french fries in Ice Cream.
I was recently craving something sweet, and all we had was frosting and grahm crackers, so i decided to combine the two. I put frosting on the grahm cracker, and now I have a quick new treat that I love.
I sometimes dip original chips in either ice cream or ketchup, unless we have dip :P
I really enjoy thinking up new and starnge concoctions to try, so I think I have rather unusual eating habits.

My little food quirk is that hot pizza is absolutely disgusting to me. When I make a pizza, I have to slice it and individually wrap the pieces in aluminum foil and put them in the fridge until they are sufficiently cold.
Cold pizza is simply amazing.

I agree, Cold Pizza is the best, a lot better than hot pizza.
I cannot eat scrambled eggs without maple syrup and pepper. I just can't stand it; one year, i went to a week long Church Summer Camp(Camp Luther), and I had to go get syrup and pepper for my eggs, because they didn't put it with the sasusage biscuits we were having for breakfast...

Gravy on Mac N Cheese, Gravy on Fries, Ketchup in Mashed Potatoes
I don't really like ketchup on fries, I'll EAT it, but it's not my fav, I like to put mustard, mustard and Mayo, or ketchup and mayo on my fries,
I drink Red Wine Vinegar plain a lot,
I also freeze chocolate a lot... hmmm...
Before I eat waffles I try and think of what the syrup looks like(One time it looked like Darth Vader)
I used to(and still do, but don't have any pancakes) put whipped cream on pancakes
I like to eat frosting plain, but cannot stand it on a cake
My little brother mixed mayo ketchup oil vinegar mustard sugar salt pepper garlic soda and any other thing he could get his hands on into a pan and dared me to taste it, it was actually kinda good(It made me gag when I looked at it though :D)
You know the cans of cream of chicken you can buy that are supposed to be for cooking? I love to eat those plain(Cooked or still condensed)
Back when I was like 8 I used to adore hot sauce and ketchup so much that I used to put salt and pepper in a bowl, fill it with hotsauce and/or ketchup and eat it, though I got in trouble a lot and stopped doing it, it was fun :)
I also used to love to eat butter sandwhiches or Mayo sandwhiches when I was 8 too...
My little brother likes to put ketchup in vanilla ice cream *Gag*
thats about all I can remember, but I'll probably have a dozen more odd combinations in a year or 2 :)

Turkey? has to have ketchup and cheese.
