E3 2010 - What do you want to see?

I hope that Sony reveals a second-gen PSP. I'd also like to hear that Microsoft is scrapping Project Natal in favor of bringing back the Sega Activator. What about you guys?

i'm not too picky. if anything bizarre or strange is announced, i'll be happy. the last thing i want to see is every developer announce the same type of game and/or a new entry in an already established franchise. i always like new, innovative titles, so i hope we get some this year.

As a company both in the electronics business and video games, Sony is hoping the hype surrounding 3D technology will give it a boost. Sony will be updating the PS3 firmware in the near future to make the console 3D-compatible, and the first batch of 3D-enabled games are expected to launch this June alongside Sony's 3D TV push.
Today the company revealed that purchasers of the Sony HX803 (the company's first 3D TV) will receive a voucher to download four 3D games from the PlayStation Network: Wipeout HD, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, PAIN, and Super Stardust HD. Separate glasses will need to be purchased, as they're not packed in with the television....
Looks like they're going to start with just making already released games stereoscopic. I guess that's innovation. I'm sure this will come up at the E3.

yeah i heard about the 3d stuff...it makes sense as the ps3 only needs a firmware update to allow the system to do the 3d stuff and from what i've heard, adding 3d to a game isn't very hard...but it seems like this is more of a "look at what the ps3 can do that 360 and wii can't" stunt than anything else.
personally, i'm hoping for a completely new experience...and i hope and pray that i won't have to settle for a "shove the wiimote in a doll and take care of your baby" game on the wii (which i've heard is actually on the way) in order to get that new experience.

It was meh.

I don't really care about all that 3D business, so the 3DS didn't pique my interest at all. I was, however, excited about the new 360 - what a sleek lookin' piece of machinery! And the Gears 3 gameplay unveil was pretty cool.

One trailer that caught my eye was Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I dig the cinematic feel to some of these PS3 games, ala Heavy Rain. I hope it becomes a trend.
And, as a HUGE survival horror fan, I was happy to see a trailer for the next Silent Hill game. It looks a billion times better than Homecoming already.
Now all we need is a Fatal Frame and Clock Tower...

Honestly, I caught none of Sony's stuff. I just wasn't all that interested this year, I guess. I did make sure to catch Microsoft's announcements, though.
The only reason I'd get a PS3: The Last Guardian.

I can't wait for The Last Guardian, either. I'm also excited about rumors of an ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD remake for PS3 ala GOW 1/2.

i guess it's actually scheduled to come out in north america, but the release date hasn't been announced yet. the working title seems to be "the team ico collection."
there's also a sly cooper collection coming out in november...perhaps in 2011, we'll be seeing a lot of ps2 favorites remade in hd if the sales of these two are successful.
EDIT: just got an email from a friend that owns a video game store. the ico/shadow of the colossus collection is officially being released now. the release date is currently set for 11/30/10. i'm quite glad that they're releasing it and that the release date is so close.

That's exciting! Thanks for the info Ape. :)

sadly i have heard that last guardian will be delayed to holidays 2011, which means 1+ years more of waiting. i have high hopes for the game, but i don't think it's going to be for everyone.
