I think the magic that was present in Doom and Doom II (even today) is pretty much incapable of being copied.
Additionally, the last bit of the original "id" left the other month when John Carmack left the company. I really think that is a sign that things are pretty screwed up morale wise within id.

11 years, 1 month ago at Mar 13 5:52 - I couldn't agree more. It's not looking good for them. I liked Doom 64, and a lot of people seem to really hate that version.
