Deleted Image

I know people get on here and complain about deleted images ALOT. I'm sorry to join their ranks. I don't get many images deleted cause I try really hard to follow the rules. But I recently had one deleted for reason "other". I re-uploaded it to my own images but I would really like to know why it was deleted in the first place that way if I've broken some unwritten rule I can avoid it in the future.

It's not watermarked, or photoshopped, or a duplicate. It can't have been because Brad's in the picture cause there are still hundreds with him in it. This is from an event in February so you don't have to go back very far to check for duplicates. There are head shots but no full body shots which I need for my never ending fashion lists.

Anyway, the point is, I asked a mod who couldn't give me a reason. I can't ask specifically the mod who did it cause I'm not supposed to know who did. So essentially, I'm looking for other opinions and whether I can re-upload it.

If you check the deleted image page there should be a link to the related thread and see which mod deleted the image.

And my view that image shouldn't have been deleted unless it was really a duplicate.

I agree that there is no legit reason for it to be deleted if it was not a duplicate or extremely similar image. Let's assume it was a mistake by another mod.

However, I don't think there is anything wrong with you asking the mod who deleted it why it was deleted if you would really like to know.

As I said before, go ahead and re-upload it into Angelina's gallery if you want :)

If you check the deleted image page there should be a link to the related thread and see which mod deleted the image.

I just wanted to clarify that I've received a message from another user saying that non-mods don't get the link at the end of this part. I thought that, since they can see the same deleted image page, they had the link. It makes sense why it isn't included, given many of the heated attacks against management as a whole and stalking of specific mods when users find out who deleted their images.

In that case, I wouldn't mind continuing to have threads like this posted, and I'm fine answering messages about why an image has been deleted, just as long as no mod is targeted out of anger. I understand that it's frustrating to have an image deleted and not know quite why, so I don't want to demonize every user that has this question or ignore messages asking about this. Not that there aren't some insubordinate militants who need to conform to the authority instituted for the benefit of the aristocracy - can I get an amen? =P

A-men! I would love to see why images that I post are deleted. And, frankly, there are a lot of duplicates in actor/actress pictures that get separate views and separate votes that are not deleted. I'm guilty of a few myself, although it's hard to run through 1500 images and then try to remember which ones you've seen and haven't seen. That's one reason I'd like to see a "Return to X's Pictures" page after I've deleted a duplicate that I've mistakenly posted.

If you are not sure why you're image was deleted it was probably deleted because it was a duplicate

I don't know how someone would even know if a duplicate was deleted, unless you personally keep track of every one of your own uploaded pics. There is no notification for having a duplicate deleted...or at least there wasn't in the past.

^ There is not a notification. It's just that some users post hundreds of duplicate images that could have been easily avoided had they just checked a few pages back and there is not enough time to delete each one individually by copying/pasting the link of the original. So I will just delete them as other. This is only for users who continuously repost images.

Hey all, just added a suggestion that (if implemented) could probably help alleviate issues with deleted images that were part of lists www.listal.com/suggestion/837
