Delete my own images

This happens in the original site... so I checked here and it's the same.
Why I cannot delete the pictures I uploaded to make them my background or header when I'm not using it anymore?
They don't appear with my personal pictures... in the Edit Profile section there's no way to delete them... Why is that?
I can only delete them when people vote for them, witch is weird because they can see them but I don't?? I don't know where this picture are, I don't get it...

I hope I made myself clear, sorry my English and sorry if someone had already ask this...
