David Fincher vs Christopher Nolan

My 2 favorite directors, my favorite is Nolan my 2nd favorite is Fincher, I am wondering who you guys like better Nolan or Fincher and why.

Fincher, without a doubt.

Tough call. But, I would have to say Nolan.

Its a tough call, they are two of the best working today. Nolan's Batman is the best I have seen and Inception is the best original film in years. Fincher is as master as well, Se7en, Fight Club, and now the Social Network. I am excited to see both of their upcoming projects. The Third Batman should be awesome and the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo will be awesome as well.

I really like both Nolan's Inception and Batman Begins, but wasn't as into The Dark Knight. I also like Fincher's Se7en and The Social Network, but didn't quite so much enjoy Fight Club. Given the fact that Batman Begins falls under the category of "Good" rather than "Great" for me, and that Fincher uses music I happen to enjoy (Nine Inch Nails, primarily), I'll go with David Fincher. As I had hoped, Trent Reznor (of NIN) is going to do some more scoring (with Fincher again!), and it's for an adaptation of a book my family loves (I haven't read it yet) - not only that, but a series which hopefully will warrant more Trent Reznor scores.

I think Fincher's best movies are better than Nolans, but I think Nolan has yet to make a bad film. Fight Club and Social Network are probably better than Inception or Social Network. However, (no fault of his own) Fincher has directed garbage like Panic Room and the dismal Alien 3 (definitely not his fault). Nolan's worst films might be the Prestige and Insomnia, and both are still excellent films. I love both directors, but I give the nod to Nolan until he starts producing some flops.

I wouldn't say Nolan is better, but he is my favorite.

Fincher is better, though Nolan is pretty great too.
