Database quality

I've seen some people saying they can't find certain things on here when searching.
Maybe people don't realize they can search directly on amazon (I could make this clearer) or maybe amazon's database just isn't very complete.
Maybe the search function fails for certain querys?
I am thinking of moving the music database to musicbrainz (if possible)
musicbrainz.org
Feedback appreciated!

Amazon has quite a good database, but since we can't add items from Amazon.com it isn't as good. I've had to add a couple of computer games today manually because they weren't on Amazon.co.uk.
Personally, I've never used musicbrainz before, so I can't comment on that.
Perhaps for games GameSpot would be a good site? I'm not sure if you can do that, but there are games on there that I can't find on other sites.

Did you get those two mixed up because you can search and add from amazon.com with books, dvds, music and games and amazon.co.uk with books and dvds. You can also add from amazon.com or uk if you know the ASIN.

I tried adding a couple of items from .com but they didn't work. On the search page neither local database or Amazon.com are highlighted as a choice and I can't seem to select them and re-search.
EDIT- Urgh... it's working now. :P Sorry!

The were probably from a section other than games/dvds/books/music, sometimes amazon puts some games into software or toys.

Ahhh, thats it. Damn that software category. Thanks!

I've never been able to use the "Search Amazon.com" feature. I either don't know how to use it, or it just doesn't work. If I execute a search, and then choose the Amazon.com radio button on the search results, nothing happens.

Try it now, I have changed it. Seemed to be a problem with IE browsers.

It now seems to work now. I use Safari most of the time, but I'm pretty sure I had tried it with Firefox before and it didn't work. But, it is working as expected now.
