Why would children see it if it was in Vanity Fair? You're kind of exposing it to younging's by posting it here....

I encourage Daniel Radcliffe's artistic expression, the Harry Potter movies aren't very good.

Yeah, not that disturbing since at the very least he keeps his pants on in the photos. Looks like its promoting the play he's in. Either that or Vanity Fair pulled another Miley.

the useless things one learns watching late night talk shows.

Well apparently he's going to be naked in the next Harry Potter film. Or so they say.

Naked? Hm...I doubt they would show that in a children's movie. But if they do...0_o

Personally I think he was just anticipating the need to escape being known only as "that guy that played Harry Potter" and making a move on it before the series ended. The controversy caused by this just proves that he's not going to leave the HP series lacking in reputation.

Either that or Vanity Fair pulled another Miley.

The different being that she is a 15 year old already with controvesy, and I believe he was 18 at the time. That and its America, and Disney, where everything must be sacarine sweet and wrapped in an image that cannot be broken for fear of someone, somewhere complaining. I trust Leibovitz and her right to artistic statement and think the photos were tastefully done, and I believe she was also the photographer for the Radcliffe ones (I think).

On a personal note, I'm not really a Harry Potter fan and I slightly glad the image of fantasy has been broken for actual fans. Brings them back down to earth.

You have to be kidding me. I actually accuse you of just talking bollocks there.

Vanity Fair is a magazine. And this was publicity posters for a play, not TV. Get your media types right.

Just because people find it disturbing doesn't mean we should keep it out of magazines that are directed towards adults. If you want to live in a world where people remain the innocent "Harry Potter" for the rest of their lives, then don't go on the internet or read Vanity Fair.

I know it's disturbing to you, but that's no reason to claim that others shouldn't do certain things.

True, he is growing up & harry potter won't be for long. just 2 more years.

Weren't the photos for the play he did a year or so ago called 'Equus'. Inspired by an actually event of a similar basis itโ€™s about a young stable boy who becomes worryingly obsessed with horses, his relationship with his girlfriend and psychiatrist.

One scene required Daniel to go nude in it, whilst the rest of the play dealt with dark emotional turmoil, religious and sexual deviations.

So the publicity photos, and the play itself were more of a conscious decision by him to change his type cast and challenge the views the public held of him... not Vanity Fair exploiting him, as a naive young boy.

Dio is correct, these were the publicity photos from the play Equus! This is well 2007 people, I've seen the full frontal nude photo of him, had in in my pictures folder but my comp had to be restored and a I couldn't find it again. He is quite well endowed.

He decided he wanted to get away from his child/innocent image and get into some real acting..he did well, you people don't know what you're talking about.

Kudos to him for stepping outside of what he's "known for" and doing something different.
silent killer 16 years, 8 months ago at Aug 27 4:42 -
Ugh. I was joking.

*internet fails at sarcasm
*'splodes

Apparently, Equus is coming to Broadway. Hence the Vanity fair spread. Saw him on Conan O'Brian last night.
