Dangerous "Glamour Tube" Pop-ups on Listal?

While I was browsing Listal, using Firefox on an Android tablet, a "Glamour Tube" pop-up window came up showing some barely dressed babes. Evidently it had not been blocked by AdblockPlus which I use on my browser. It happened twice, randomly. Once, my girlfriend was next to me. She noticed it and looked at me inquiringly! I had to explain: "I don't know zip about it!". :D
But the best part has yet to come. The second time I wrote down the URL address of the window, which was
[removed url] etc. etc.
and looked for info about it.
On an Italian Consumers' web site I found a letter by a user saying he clicked on such a [removed url] window on his smartphone, and later he found out he had been charged 6.99 euros per week!
tlc.aduc.it/lettera/sito+http+glamour+it+xpor+mobi+it_255167.php (in Italian)

In my understanding such tricky windows can charge you when you connect to the Internet through "mobile data" (phone company services like GPRS), while you should be safe if you connect to a Wi-Fi network.

That's disgusting. I'm so sorry to hear that.

From my understanding, this is the exact reason why porn, overly sexually images, or any nudity (even harmless stuff) is a problem on this site: when the site gets labeled as allowing such, the ad service thinks they can start placing "adult" ads on here. I don't really understand how this works or if I'm explaining it exactly right but I think that's the gist.

I've been traveling a lot recently and usually I can access listal at airports, but one airport had the site blocked for "pornographic content." So embarrassing....

I thought the same as you did. Ad services "see" the content of a site and show their ads accordingly.

Anyway, I am keeping "Mature content" blocked in my Listal settings, and I was *not* browsing a list of hotties when the ads popped-up.

Can you remember which page triggered the popup? and are you sure it wasn't another browser tab you had open?

None of the ad companies I use have popups or would allow adult adverts so there are 2 possibilities:

1) A ad has slipped through the approval process or someone who has the same ad suggested here "injection of a malicious (XSS) script into a big ad server somewhere"

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31666227

2) Your system has become infected with adware/malware which has launched the ads, I know this is relatively common on desktop pcs but I'm not sure how common this is on tablets.

@Tom
Thank you for the reply. I used a question mark in the title of this thread just because I was in doubt. If you say it's not from Listal, that's good news! :)

I said "pop up", but "new tab" is a better description.
I remember I was on Listal home page and clicking on a list link.

I read the XDA thread about the intrusive ads. Exactly the Glamour babes page that I saw! Looks like the issue can affect any web site showing ads. I can just confirm the redirect was not triggered by some Flash ads, as I don't have Flash on the tablet.

As to adware/malware, I'll double check, but I never saw anything like that redirect to Glamour babes... on the Android systems I've used so far. But one never knows! :)
On the tablet there were some pre-installed apps which I don't personally know, so I've just removed them to be on the safe side.

It happened again on a completely different Android device, when I was on the page of a movie (Gremlins) and clicked to read a review.
In Firefox's history I can see the pages I was automatically redirected to.

strlogger .com/redirect.html

glamour. it.xpor .mobi/it/movie/details/601/Ragazze-Vixen-dai-capelli-neri-?p=435&pi=gmplugrush&age=18

(same link as in the XDA thread)

I inserted blank spaces so that the links do not actually work. Anyway, don't click on them!
