I've noticed this happening with some of the reported pictures a few months back. They were reported as being invalid, and the thumbnail was the correct picture while the direct link was something different.

Yes, this has happened to us as well. We had a pic of River Phoenix that turned into a pic from a Disney movie...very strange.

It happened to me a few times and it really irritates me. My picture got turned into something that was borderline porn. It also happened to a picture I posted 3 years ago for Puppet Master. It was a picture of some girl and it was deleted. I had to re-upload it a few weeks back. It makes me wonder how many other photos I've posted are affected and haven't been noticed/reported yet.

This thing happened to me too.
I posted a still photo of the silent film Aelita on March 7th, 2009 and it was recently deleted (a week ago) and had somehow turned into a photo of some blond actress flashing her nipple.

I think whatever was causing this has been fixed but there still may be images that had been changed left. The examples I checked from this thread changed quite a long time ago.

it only affected deleted images? i didn't even realize my image was deleted. i don't see why it should have been either. so the solution is to reupload?

No it affected any image, if the image was deleted it would have a red bar at the top saying it's been deleted. Unfortunately images have to be reuploaded yes.

Tom, forgive me for being a little blunt. Are you just saying if this happens that we just deal with it? There are a lot of users on here who use this as a social networking site. If I provided a link to my account to all of my friends and/or acquaintances and they look at all of my uploaded photos and see that two years ago I uploaded a pic for Toy Story, only now it's a picture of some half naked woman, then it makes me look sleazy. I can understand if you can't fix the mistakes retroactively, but please tell me this will be corrected for the future at least.

luckily it doesn't affect me too much, but i can understand your frustration Gauntlet. Tom says: "I think whatever was causing this has been fixed" which hints that he thinks it was fixed by some previous bug fixing. i wonder how frequent it was. also it must be annoying for people who upload loads of pictures, because there are no means on knowing which ones are affected.

Yes I believe the bug causing this has been fixed, if you notice and images changing that have definitely changed very recently please let me know.
