this site is becoming a mess in some spots:

item page

bag and forth tug of war of item editing, with many personal insults being thrown around. seems like some of the hostile flame wars of groups is spilling over into other parts of listal.

moderation should be implemented ASAP.

anyone else agree?

for that, yes, Definitely we need some moderation

for the groups, Moderation would definitely be a help in the effort to quell the Anime section

Lockable item criteria is the solution for this. I like my tags for Silent Hill 2 to lead me to Silent Hill 4, not Silent Hill 2 again.

Obviously this is what everyone is fighting for. Tighter control on who can edit will provide a lesser stream of bullsh*t.

Essentially there should be Moderators appointed for different things. Obviously we need a few to monitor different topics in the forum. So like a Film Mod, TV Mod, Game Mod. Then we also need Mods who can patrol the items to sort out tags, flames and edits.

You reckon Tom is holding out because he doesnt want to give away so much power away? I know this place is his creation but he shouldn't be afraid as there are genuine people herer who want to see this site flourish. Madness.

either that or the tools for moderation are not built into the core of this site, and i'd imagine it could get complicated to try to add it after the fact

Its a shame that it is necessary really, the world should be mature enough to not need moderation.

In relation to the other thread R.V, this is what i was referring to man.
If you were to explain why you agree further etc it would be worth while, if you disagreed it would be worth explaining why etc. But to merely respond with your agreement is not that necessary, as i believe its true anyway, and i hope others do too, but i wont need telling that. Again, im not on your back, but its these things that get peoples backs up.

I believe the moderators are dearly needed for this site to remain active
as many are purposefully bringing the anime section down

I think Tom's working on codes a lot in addition to making a living. He's really laid back when he deals with these situations - I don't think stress is a motivating factor for him. I feel the problem is that he doesn't have enough people helping him with coding, so he hasn't installed moderating capabilities yet. I personally feel full moderating abilities should be given to all the moderators in order to decrease dependence on a certain VIPs being online.

I agree.

Statements like this help us understand one another. After all, this is an international website. Communication sometimes takes consideration of how others relate ideas and concepts. Texas has a lot of hispanics in it, so communicating through gestures is occasionally useful if you don't know Spanish. Beyond mathematics and music, I merely know all the time periods of English in addition to Latin (which I'm still working on).
