Bug/Suggestion: Auto Resized Images

Something I've run across lately that's causing a few problems: On a number of images I've uploaded recently, the image is artificially blown up beyond its actual dimensions in order to "fit" the window. Problem is, this makes it look incredibly distorted and crappy.

The actual image is 377x1000, but it's being scaled to 600x1592. This is just one example, but there are a multitude of others with similar issues, and many that have been enlarged anywhere from a few pixels to several dozen. I know people can play with the sizing themselves, but unless someone knows the exact dimensions of the original, they're never able to view the original image.

I don't know if this is being done by design or if it's a bug, though. I've uploaded others where the image is left completely intact, so I don't really know why it does it with some, but not others.
