17 years, 5 months ago at Jan 23 17:12 - Bug: when you do a search in Games section, and then hit the AMAZON.COM radio checkbox, none of user uploaded images appear
Bug: simply performing a search with amazon option causes Listal to add every item that came up into listal's database. normally that's a good thing, but it causes a few bugs (see below) and also adds crap like T-Shirts and posters and figurines into Listal's database. it's probably required in order to display amazon items on a listal page, to add them to the database, but maybe if it added new items to a temporary buffer database, and only search items that get added to people's list would then be moved into Listal's master database.
Bug (caused by Amazon importing): If an item has never had its title, platform, date, or description modified by a user (probably 80% of entries in Games listal), and a search is done using Amazon and its title comes up, amazon does an update of listal's entry, which normally would be good (perhaps amazon image is added, or better description or date is added from amazon automatically) but I've noticed it does the following quite often, depending on the game:
- 'PC Games' become 'PC'
- 'PC Games' become 'Windows XP'
- 'PC Games' become 'DOS'
- 'Playstation 2' become 'Playstation2'
- 'Super Famicom and SNES' become 'Super NES'
- 'Playstion Portable' become 'Sony PSP'
and a few others i can't recall right now
Any item that gets its platform changed gets shows up on All Platforms page, as well as each person's overview page, as a different category. I've noticed a few times some of my games moved platform because of this bug, but my renaming it, it corrects it and seems to stop that particular title from being affected in the future. Still, it's an annoyance that i've been manually fixing last few weeks, each time i see 'Playstation2' or 'Windows XP' or 'PC' category get more and more populated on the 'All Platforms' page.

I might be directly responsible for some of the items in your collection switching over, as I've searched pretty much all of those systems within the last week (sometimes in amazon when Listal didn't have it). I also don't prefer the lack of Listal images, however Amazonian the item may be.
Another big problem I have is that systems say 2 or 3 items for a while even after an amazon entry has screwed the whole system over. It's harder to fix the consoles this way, and the same thing happens with member ranks and points (unless you open them up to update the amount). It makes me think someone could be on the front of the Listal points search and it could say 'Points: 13' underneath, simply because they don't update the amount through a simple clickity.
EDIT: My rank is now 24. It was 25 a minute ago, though I passed into the spot yesterday.
