book author errors

1) Adding new books to the database from Amazon never did actually grab the author names. They show up on the book page initially, but the names don't seem to register with the database, as the new book doesn't show up in the list of works that that person is associated with (on that person's profile page), and if you look at that book in a list of items, the author field is blank.

So for each book that is added from Amazon, you have to manually go to edit the info and enter the author(s) name in the blank textbox.

2) When you add an author's name and there is more than one person with that name, it appears that the system will just add everyone with that name to the list of authors.

Example:

"David Robinson" is an author on those books (the basketball player David Robinson on the first, and cinema historian David Robinson on the second).

But as you can see, BOTH Robinsons get listed on both books.

(Also, any reason the more notable "David Robinson" link is stuck with "david-robinson_iv"?)

3) (NEW ISSUE): Adding a new author does not create a page for that person. So no matter how many titles are in the database by that person, if you click their name, you get a "Page not found | We could not find the page you were looking for" error.

This is incredibly inconvenient, as there's no way to see all titles from a specific author, or which ones are already in the database.

Oh my goodness it would have taken me another two years to notice if I hadn't seen this thread. :( Yeah that explains the difficulty I've had finding books on this site.

I guess Listal is not grabbing the correct info from Amazon anymore- also why so many book covers are gone? I didn't used to have to add cover images for every book I've added to the site, now I do.

That was the issue I was highlighting in point #1...It never actually did grab the info from Amazon, or at least not the author, and at least not as long as I've been around.

As for the book covers, yeah I mentioned that one here...
