Block votes for unreleased movies?

Is there a way to for the developers of listal to block votes of unreleased movies? The current number 1 rated movie is a Harry Potter film that didn't even begin production.

I believe IMDB blocks voting until after a movie is officially released. It would be nice to have same rule over here.

I definitely agree with you. Also, it is ridiculous that people can add a film as watched that aren't released (or even filmed) yet. More examples:

It is quite annoying.

well, perhaps voting should be allowed for unreleased stuff, i.e. as a barometer of 'most anticipated' movie, but perhaps if there was a way to 'filter' it out of the Top Rated listings? I know right now, a movie needs minimum 10 ratings before it gets included in the Top Rated list, but what about adding that it also must have been 'watched' by at least 20 people? although even that may eventually prove futile, as already there's 8 people that have 'watched' that Harry Potter movie that doesnt even have a completed script yet. lol

The steps needed could be used to make it easier to find new films, etc, which at the moment is a bit tricky. The 'Recommendations' really only applies to previously seen and rated movies from your friends lists, while the 'Top Wanted' movies have lots of 'currently on DVD' films. To find what's coming out soon is very tricky to do right now. I had to make my own list called 'Coming Soon' to keep track of new movies I want to someday checkout.

So if all movies have release date flags stored in their database listing, perhaps we can use that filter out unreleased stuff from 'Top Rated', and make a new category called 'Most Anticipated Release' which would show all unreleased films, sorted by either # of want-to-watch hits and highest rating.

And bam, everyone's happy. ;)
