Best and Worst Forums You've Visited

I'll start with the best I've visited:

VGMuseum.com Forums - I started here because I love Mr. P's Castlevania Realm and I wanted to talk about the games. Mr. P's a nice guy; I've sent him lots of e-mails with articles to put up on his site and occasional suggestions. He's always glad to have people contributing. The forums also have a good tone. There's not daily activity, but the members that are there are also very mature and very nice. There are never any arguments, either.

And now for the worst:

Sega Sonic the Hedgehog Forums - There are flame wars daily, as these people just can't accept anyone else has a differing opinion from them. But of course I never engage in that. The worst thing I experienced was starting a topic sharing something original from myself or asking for help. I asked for help making some sigs in one topic, one Tool-related, and the reply I get is a link to a T00l SUX0RX-type image. I posted My Sonic the Hedgehog Level Design (which, while it may be short and doesn't try to revolutionize platforming, I put some thought into it and just wanted to share it with them so they could enjoy the hypothetical Sonic side-scrolling) and I get about five comments saying "It's crap" and posting face-palm images. You get the picture.

I only joined a week or two ago and already I've decided not to go on there again except to engage in a PM conversation with one of the few nice members who makes free sigs for people. There's a nice member here or there, but you'll just have to stick to PMs if you want any kind of pleasant experience at this place. I guess Sonic the Hedgehog fans truly earn their place as one of the three worst fandoms right behind Twilight and Naruto. Or maybe I'm just hyper-sensitive. Yeah, that's it. :/

My favorite forum is the Sega Sonic the Hedgehog Forums. There was this guy there who posted a Sonic the Hedgehog level, lolz it was the suck. It was awesomz flamin his work!!!

The worst forum is this other one I found.

Best - Listal I'm not just saying that but this forum does have some good people on here who come up with some great valid points. This website is certainly a good community.

Worst - WWE Universe forums full with people who actually believe WWE is real I watch the show but some people take it far too seriously. The Cena fans are annoying because they can't take criticism and then the Cena fans swear at you because your only stating your reasons why you dislike the character. The Moderators on WWE Universe are the worst I've seen.

I know it's probably really annoying from a subjective point of view, but from here that's pretty comical. =D

The Cena fans are annoying because they can't take criticism and then the Cena fans swear at you because your only stating your reasons why you dislike the character.

It's never good when users argue over opinions... Everyone's unique with their own tastes, and that should be a pretty easy concept to grasp. Those people that swear at you are probably also the ones swearing at the wrestlers they don't like in the stadium during a match.

The Moderators on WWE Universe are the worst I've seen.

While I will say that a community as a whole is vital to how friendly or unfriendly a forum is, as a moderator it's your job to set an example and show that the management cares about the users, unbiased no matter how in the process of learning or, contrarily, valued on the site they are. I've never been in a forum where the mods were jerks long enough to feel personally attacked, but I've heard about one or two and seen some threads and it just disgusts me. =/
