Every band I saw on your list Kris that I;d heard of are all some of my favorites, could you tell me, which ones are NOT bling rap? (I'll listen to rap, so long as it isn't this new bling rap that's going everywhere(Basically: I pimp dem hoes like nobody else knows, I got the money rolling in da doughs cuz I haz a great hose if ya knows whatI mean; any of that stuff is rubbish for me)

I like everything except pig squeels and fake plastic gangstas who believe they are jesus.

Most country I dislike VERY much, Raps, again, Bling Rap is shit, it's worthless and can burn in hell (An example of this'd be most of the current artist, ESPECIALLY Soulja Boy)
Christian rap and other religious rapping is okay, it's not GREAT but I'll listen to it because it has a purpose and the creators actually HAVE some original skill of some sort (An example of this is Toby Mac)
Political rapping and the old kinds of rap(And some hip hop) Are rather good too, I'll listen to them as well (An example of this'd be Flobots and the OLD rappers; Oh, and Fort Minor could be considered this too)
Granted, some bling raps, mainly the ones that are either not TOO heavy on the lyrics or ones that add in Rock or Electro elements(Such as 3Oh!3, 311 and others with odd sounds that don't even seem like rap(but the lyrics say otherwise :P)

Well Devious;
I like to think that all of the songs I've said, isnæt bling rap!
Because, I don't like rap, at all... Maybe a couple of songs works, but i think that the genre rap is total crap...

I don't like reggae, I love it. Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Groundation, Gentleman, Peter Tosh, SOJA and so on... And also soul, I love artists like Bobby Womack, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and so on :) i also like funk and finnish music.

I think good music should be derived from life ( [Link removed - login to see]

I mostly listen to experimental-electronic music, which sounds overly general, but it's what I usually say when I don't think more detail would be understood.
Also, Kris: Not a single one of those bands is industrial.

There's no such thing as The Best... (kind of music)
I assume the question is what's your favorite kindof music? Then I'll say Rock. Hard, Alternative, Classic, Metal, all Rock'n Roll baby.

I like everything.. Except heavy metal where you can't even understand the lyrics.

Anything that sounds good to my ears based on the everyday mood :)
That could be from depressive suicidal black metal(Nyktalgia,Silencer,Forgotten Tomb etc) till classic rock (such as Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin,Pavlovs Dog and others)!!

I like the best of everything

any song with a jug in it. ahh, the jug...easiest instrument to play, hardest to master.

Almost everything with a quality requirement.

Indie! I love indie because its like wearing a blindfold picking a candy: you'll never know what you'll get!

I like Alternative Rock, myself. Some of my favorite artists in the genre include Filter, Foo Fighters, Jane's Addiction, Marilyn Manson, Nickelback, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Rage Against the Machine, Rammstein, and Tool. Full list and favorite songs off some of their albums here.

METAL FOR LIFE |m| Death Metal, Groove Metal, Folk/Viking Metal, MetalCore, DeathCore, Grindcore, Melodic Death Metal, Black Metal, Progessive Metal, and things like this.

I enjoy most styles of music but my overall favourite genre would probably be black metal.

Mostly Rock, Classic Rock, Classic Country and Bluegrass, I like a little bit of everything really, but don't like most contemporary Country, or the extreme Metal scene, I like some Heavy Metal, just not the real hard core stuff, I like the classic proto-punk bands like the Ramones. I like some of the old bebop Jazz, but not the sleepy elevator music they call smooth Jazz nowadays. I like some Progressive Rock as long as it it not pompous and over-indulgent. Basically any music that is good and is done well, I can usually find a place for it.
I don't like top 40 Pop music or HipHop. Some rap is okay, but I find most of it boring.

There is no such thing as the "best" type of music, no matter how you look at it.
Without one thing or the other, you don't have the out come of what is out there today in this world of run down ideas that sounds like something you've heard before.
I used to listen to heavy metal when I was a kid. Times change...I would suggest going back 50 years and grabbing some old Blues and R&B albums, if that's your kinda thing. Also Jazz is the big boy material to those.
You have to experiment, don't limit yourself to one genre. And don't fall for that bullshit like they print in magazines "You're not a true rocker if you listen to dance music!" Get that crap out and just enjoy yourself. Genres are only created to market music. Look at Jimi Hendrix, he was influenced by so much, they didn't know how to categorize him to market his albums to a single group of people. I grew up in a house that thought Blues and Jazz was 'nigger music' I didn't let them stop me from listening to them, just push the negativity aside.

Every genre have at least one good piece, that's the way I look at it.
Now for my favorite genres, I would say Renaissance, baroque, Classical, Blues, Old rock (50's & 60's), modern classical film music, Opera, choir, gregorian chant, folk. that's about it.. I have over 50 playlists on spotify covering most of this.

Mostly rock I love post grunge and classic rock

Anything played live, with real instruments, and a passion for their work. That is the best.

I finally found my niche --- art rock/progressive rock/electronica

Trance, Latin, Pop/Rock from the 50's-mid 90's, Vocal Pop, Jazz, Big Band, etc. I like lots of different types of music. But mostly stuff I can dance to.

There really is no best, people have different taste. I listen to RocknRoll,RnB,HipHop(pre-Lil wayne and soulja boy) Country, I like Pop but very loosely.

I like electronic pop, dance pop, alternative rock, Christian alternative, and some classic rock
