Best musical instrument

My daughter suddenly got the urge to learn and play recorder and I thought it would be easy to teach as I was being taught it at school many years ago...what a mistake! The instrument is more complicated than it needs to be...just compare playing a scale on a piano to the recorder! So i thought just what IS the best musical instrument
I can only guess that recorders are taught in school because they are cheap, portable and...thats it!
Guitar seems utterly un-intuitive as well
Piano seems best but you can hardly drag them around with you

flute,piano or sax

All instruments require practice and dedication. Whichever one your daughter is attracted to is the "best" one.

i think people have misunderstood the main thrust of the post - why are the instruments un-intuitive compared to a piano? no wonder people sample stuff - I recall Adamski after becoming famous for Killer and he moaned that musical instruments like guitars were a barrier to creating music - effectively elitists insist that "natural" instruments are the only way to create music

all she needs is an Ipad and she can play/learn all music instruments easily using user-friendly apps

Well, if the point is to pick the most intuitive to learn instrument, then drums. If it's to pick the most intuitive instrument that can easily be carried, then bongo drums or a djembe.
