I would recommend The Replacement Killers, Bulletproof Monk and Windtalkers; all are good films. I would stay away from The Big Hit though - it didn't impress me at all.

I've been meaning to see Red Cliff and Reign of Assassins but I haven't made it around to it as yet.

Firstly The Replacement Killers and Bulletproof Monk aren't John Woo films, he just produced them, and secondly I would steer clear of these two if I were you. Bulletproof is just watered down american funfun, which is just plain fucking awful at that and Replacement Killers has some good stuff, but overall fails to deliver and I almost fell asleep watching it.

Windtalkers would also be stupid shit if there wasn't some saving graces, which I cannot reveal here without spoiling some scenes from that film.

Overall, you would do well to keep away from his american films and see the ones he made in HK apart from Face/Off and Hard Target, which are pretty decent actions films still.

Better Tomorrow trilogy is a good way to continue with his films, even though the third part isn't his film either.

Thanks, I've been trying to get my hands on A Better Tomorrow for a bit now; I've heard they're really good.

03. A Better Tomorrow
02. Hard Boiled
01. The Killer

Honorable Mention: Face Off

Keep far away from some of the American films that he has made. They aren't nearly as good as his earlier works, in my opinion.
