ROCK - U2 (Longest playing band with most hits)

WORLD - The Chieftains Grammy-winning and very diverse range of music

SOUNDTRACKS - Clannad were huge and had a sound of their own which movies loved

BOYBANDS - take your pick Westlife or Boyzone, hmm Westlife!

GIRL BAND - The Corrs (with their brother in the background)

70s - Thin Lizzy oh yes, I'm back there again "Whisky in the Jar Oh!"

TRADITIONAL - The Dubliners

VOCAL - The Irish Tenors

BAD TEETH - The Pogues

INDIE/POP - The Cranberries

UNIQUE - Van Morrison

In my opinion U2 are probably the greatest band of all time, taking many factors into account but hey, hard to go against The Beatles for that title.

Not that I have heard a whole lot of Irish bands, but I will have to nominate The Dropkick Murphys.

The Pogues are from London. The Dropkick Murphy's are from Quincy, Massachusetts and Flogging Molly are from... somewhere in California.
