Anyone have any cool book series? I'm out of stuff to read

Yeah, as the title says, I'm out of stuff to read even though I have a lot of books. Please help by posting any good books, book, series, manga, whatever :)

Thinking of random books, most fall under the same style of writing and genre, so if you don't like one the others are probably not good either
Books: Vampire Plagues, Cirque Du Freak(Frique)
Cell by Stephen King, Mist by Stephen King, Desperation by Stephen King, Blaze by Richard Bachmen(Stephen King)
Manga: Vampire Knight
I had heard about a book similar to Twilight, although much better(and readable as far as for people like me whom dislike twilight) but I forgot the name...

You don't like Twilight?! Oh my god, you must be joking, I love those books!

Eh, it was okay, like a 5/10... then there was the swarm of fans and crazy people... and the score was reduced to a number too small to even think of...
Plus her writing is honestly kinda weak... granted, it's her first book, nonetheless a series, she has great potential as a writer, but only if she reaches that potential... and from twilight beingso amazing to every teen girl everywhere(Mainly cuz you don't look at the value of the writing, the diction, the illusions, that sorta crap, and rather what happens, not just girls, teens in general, myself included), I don't know if she will reach that potential... People stick with what works, chances are she'll try to stick with writing at that level, and not go any further so that she can wrap in the older audience into her books as well, doubling her fanbase... if she pulls it off, well then amazing

...I forgot how good you are at making REALLY long replies -.-.....

a REALLY good book series is Artemis Fowl. But it's much harder to read than Twilight, heh :D
But, yeah, Meyer's writing is weak, and the history is bad... But, honestly, she got a little less worse in each book. I didn't finishes Eclipse yet, but it's almost readable.

I've read all the Artemis Fowl books and all the Twilight books, but thanks for posting :)

I liked the Artemis Fowl series, second time I ever had to read a book over more then once(the first was White Fang)
But I agree Isis, she's getting better, but Twilight is justhow she got into the writing career, I'd love to see her expand and grow and actually improve past what she is now, but she can't do that until she's out of the Twilight Series, so I'll be looking forward to any of her other books...
Unless it's another vampire book with vampires that *shudder*... Sparkle...
Although, honestly, I'm a little biased, seeing as I started writing a vampire series two years ago, and I've finally planned it out till the point where I can crack it down on paper... and bam... this 'thing' comes out, so now I have to lock the series in a drawer for a few years until this craze dies down...

hmm.. You're from Bolivia, Selena? Try to find Daniel Galera's books. He's a brazilian author, and really good... (:
Yeah, I've finished Eclipse today (the others are not translated yet and I don't like to read a serie in more than one language. Harry Potter is the only one I can do it without cursing too much ;P), it's kind good, actually. It's been getting better, since she's learning how to put the adventure part in the whole book, and not just in 50 pages, like it happens in Twilight.
And the series would definately be better if she didn't call her created mystical images of vampires and werewolves, I guess. That's my biggest problem with her. (And the crazy fans. Seriously, there's no need for you to hold a paper where you wrote "Edward I love you" and show it to the screen in the movie theater. He's not seeing you. Neither is the actor.)

If you'd care for manga recommendations I could name a bunch, but it would help greatly if I knew what you liked. It goes from visceral to sparkly flowers.
Last book I read was Boogiepop at Dawn. The third in a series of light novels. This sums up what I thought of that. sucky review

I like manga and fantasy books, nonfiction books bore me, and fiction books are all some kind of crap with little talking bunnies and all that. -.-

The latest manga i've read is "xXxHoLiC" i dislike that
the second latest manga i've read is "Chibi Vampire"
i recommend it if you like horror, romance, and comedy

Sorry Kiara, but I am gunna say right now, Comedy and Horror are nearly impossible to be put together while describing anything, unless it's very sick humor(Like slipping through a hallway of blood and running into someone on the other side of the hallway, getting stabbed by them) (or someone begging to not be eaten, and the vampire leaves, and then he brings the house down on top of the guy rofl)
I'd recomend the warriors series, as it is actually damn good considering 1) It's written by two different people(Best and most in sync chain book I've read before) and 2) it's about cats :P

Read what I added to mine(Another recomendation)

I've heard of The Warriors before, I'll ask my mom to buy me the books :)

fantasy manga is tricky.
Red River - shoujo
Berserk - spectacular bloody mess
Itsumo Misora - fiction with lots of fantasy elements. not licensed.
Black God - same deal as last one
Phoenix - Tezuka is God of manga
3x3 Eyes - 3-eyed girl. check. zombie slave. check. Magic. double check.
Pilgrim Jager - spear of longinus
RaL grad
xxxHolic - contrary to what others have said, it ain't bad. It crosses over with Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle. Which is a huge mess right now.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Soul Hunter - Forgot the original name
Cardcaptor Sakura - Its for little kids supposedly, but Clamp has a way of making things squick. Still not that bad.
Lunar Legend Tsukihime - Vampires. Supernaturally powered killers to be and pshychotic maids. Although they have yet to be shown as such.
That's all I can think of that are worth reading.

Yeah, I recommended Cirque Du Freak, but I forgot amout the Demonata, that one is pretty good... though I have yet to finish the series...

if you liked Twilight there was a group of books associated with it that some girls at my school were talking about... I think one was the Vampire Diaries Series and...
I looked up a list of other vampire series and found the one they were talking about, Vampire Kisses
Neither of which I would personally read, but lovers of Twilight, especially girls, would probably like them...

It sort of depends on what you're looking for, I guess.
The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead is pretty enjoyable. I think there are three of them now, Vampire Academy, Frostbite, and Shadow Kiss, and a fourth coming out in the summer. It's definately a different take on vamps than Twilight, but still has the drama of high school. In my opinion, the action is better paced and leads to a more decisive climax than in Twilight (which I do happen to love, btw).
Uglies, Pretties, Specials, and Extras, by Scott Westerfield were pretty trippy. I really liked them. Very fast-paced, nothing stays still for very long, and the twists Westerfield makes are entertaining and sometimes pretty unexpected.
If you're looking for something out of the high-school realm, I don't think it's actually possible to go wrong with The Beach by Alex Garland. It's Lord of the Flies meets Gen X, and really speaks to the urge to wander and find something new and make it yours.
If you're into more fantasy-edged things, The Summoning Series by Robin D. Owens has yet to let me down. Women get pulled through this portal...thing into another world where magic exists. Which is all well and good except for the fact that evil is slowly encroaching on the people and they can't defend themselves without the help of the earth chicks. It's fairly standard paranormal romance, but it's a well-developed world and the pacing is pretty tight, so the stories move right along.
And I second the Maximum Ride Series! I mean, really, wouldn't having wings be pretty cool?

I'm not sure what level you read at, but the Inheritance Series was pretty kickass. There are only three books so far, but the fourth and final one is on the way.
Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr by Christopher Paolini.
Ring any bells? The book, Eragon, was so much better than the movie you don't even know.
Mostly Fantasy and Action.
They are very thick volumes with many hundred pages.
There was action on every page, and I always wondered what the author cooked up next.

I've read Eragon, It was very cool. I still have to read Eldest and Brisingr. I have Brisingr at home, but my brother being an idiot, refused to buy Eragon and Eldest. I rented Eragon from the library, but I can't go again until Friday. -_-

One series of books I'm looking out for is The Twelve Kingdoms from Fuyumi Ono. In Japan they were released as light novels. Two parts made a whole story arc. One story arc makes a book. There are currently ten in total. Two of which have been released in english. The main focus shifts from one character to another depending on the book, and the time gap between stories varies from ten years to approximately five-hundred. Eventually, all the stories converge on one character however. That would be the Empress of Kei. She starts off as an insufferable whiny bitch. Although I suppose its understandable since before everything that happened to her to make f'n awsome, she started out as another easily manipulated high school girl. Actually this series had an anime adaptation done. It wasn't bad. It could have been better had they not run out of source material and had to cut the series short by about 20 episodes.
One more thing, if you do bother searching for this series, there are fan translations out there that are, atleast to me, slightly better than Tokyopop's. That's what I never liked about them. They were always hit and miss with their translations. They'd either hit right on the mark or it'd be so bad I'd rather not even bother reading the material, much less buy it. I get it, sometime's you'd have to take alittle creative licensing to get a joke across or something. I'm fine with that, it's just when every sentence becomes an innuendo or is turned into some kind of off-color remark that really gets me going. I can't read moon language, so that's why I buy their books (hopefully) faithfully translated into something I can understand. But that's a story for another time. Have fun reading.

Have you read Pendragon? Its an awesome fantasy action series by D.J. Machale.
I loved it, though I haven't finished the series; I'm on book 8, if my memory is correct. It has the best adventure, ranging from mid-evil type to futuristic, to everyday life action. Every story is an adventure, and I enjoyed figuring out the problem and how to solve it before the main character, Bobby Pendragon. It was kickass, so to speak.
I know you'd love it; he's an amazing author.
Another good series with action, mystery, and puzzles is the Redwall books. They are about animals. Mice, badgers, hares, otters, shrews, hedgehogs, and squirrels are the good guys; foxes, ferrets, rats, stoats, and weasels are the bad guys.
Water voles care about only themselves and side with whichever side would keep them alive.
There are so many adventures and secrets to unlock with each volume, its unbelievable. There are warrior battles...everything you can think of. It has almost a mid-evil feel...

Lol? You people talk a lot ._.
I liked the Magyk series a lot, it was interesting but I couldn't keep up a lot because it's written from a confusing perspective ._.

Ok .. trying to make an exception from the vampire books series that won over the good books out there. Try Stieg Larsson`s series "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest". It`s a psychological thriller with a bit of romance that keeps you winded and breathless till the last page...that is if you are also sick of the vampire madness...

Simon R. Green's Secret Histories series. The first two, The Man with the Golden Torc, and Daemons Are Forever, were really good, but I didn't like the third one, The Spy Who Haunted Me, quite as much. There's two more, but I haven't read them yet so can't comment on those.

You should really read The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices and any Dan Brown books that you can get your hands on. I would say Artemis Fowl but i rekon that you have already read these because I only just got on this thing. Getting the hang of not making status's and liking everything.. but i guess i will get over it... But read the series of books that i suggested and i bet you wont be able to put them down.
(This is from an author that writes in her lesiure time and cant get anything published beacuse she is lacking the special things, apparently I have no specific style of writing, but if I do publish a book I would most probably scream it to the whole world.)

Well, have you read the Beautiful Creatures series? I've only read the first book but it's amazing so far. Also, the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series are amazing to. A friend of mine has recommended the House of Night series that she says if you like long series (it's 10 books long) and kind of dark books you'll like. Also the Divergent series is great to.
