I am looking for a new PC Game

I want to get a new game for my PC but am stuck for what it is I want. I usually waste away my days on Football Manager but have gotten very bored with that as no matter how much effort you put in it still goes at the same pace and nothing really changes on it. I used to play Sim City before that because I like to have something on where I can walk away from the computer and leave it running without to much happening. (EG if it was a fps I was playing, walking away would get me shot!)Obviously when I am at the comp I want stuff to happen! I want something I can play windowed so I can still chat on MSN, go on here etc, and it doesn't interrupt my daily routine. (Which is why I don't just merely pause the game!) and I want something that its ok to be interrupted on, as I have a newborn who needs a lot of attention so I dont want to be 4 minutes away from the end of a game every time she needs me.

Bit of a picky question I know, and I imagine the game wont be the most exciting thing ever, but I am only looking for something to keep me going at the moment whilst I search further. The most important thing is I have to be able to play it windowed without effecting the game!

The ones that pop into mind are Civilization IV and the new Colonization. Not 100% sure about windowed gameplay, but Im pretty sure it had an option for that. I'll double-check for you. And since its turn-based strategy, pick up and leave and come back and keep playing is very do-able.

There was one game in particular that you could actually do this with that is interesting, I honestly don't know the name(if I did, I've have the thing in a heartbeat) but you tranquilize animals, and take their DNA, then use that DNA to clone those animals, and later on you mix DNA, I played it 4+ years ago, great graphics too, 3D and everything, it was a nice sized window with the minimize and maximize and all that, plus, there was a pause, not only that, but various safe zone where you could just be... you later fight other animals, to get their DNA, and use those new animals to move further and further along, trying to get flying things as well as things that can swim, as well as getting strong animals to hold out...

Truth betold, it doesn't sound nearly as interesting as it really is... Actually, if anyone knows the name of this game, PLEASE do not hesitate to tell me :P

Sounds like Poke/Digi mon to me mate! Which truth be told, would be fine. I happen to like a good Pokemon on me DS, those games are addictive as hell.

Civilization brings back memories of the phrase "MORE PLEBS ARE NEEDED!" which confused and bedazzled me for days before I gave it back to my friend. If it has evolved since then I am interested. I used to own Medieval Total War but sold it because I wasn't very good at it, a game like that would of worked well on my "new n improved lean mean computin machine"

It's like pokemon/digimon, except with real animals, mixing different animals turns up different results... I think one was called something like tricanus ursidae, but you could personally name it a different species, anyways, it was three different dog DNAs mixed with a Bear of some sort, you could mix a shark with a fly(Ouch) or really anything...
I'm not sure the real purpose of the game, I only played for about an hour with my friend, but honestly, I'd much rather play it then pokemon, it's just as addictive, but a bit more interesting to me, don't get me wrong, pokemon can keep me situated for a few hours while I try my best to beat everything I can as fast as possible, but, this game was more realistic, better graphics, fake, but still nice blood, more things to do, a lot more combinations, plus it's pretty challenging after a bit, depending on the setting

The new Civ4 is very detailed if you want to micro manage the fuck out of it, but its also very automated if you don't. Even quirks like those found in Civ3, where if too many turns of war exist, your empire pretty much starts to crumble under rebellion, has been eliminated. Its a real blast to play.

Well, I heard abotu World of Warcraft, but I'm willing to bet that you have too, as about 2 million people have. It's basically like this: you make a character, get it's levels, money, etc. high, and it's pretty fun, I played it for like an hour but lost interest after a short amount of time. ^^"
