Alcohol...*hick*

I don't know why I didn't post this back when I turned 21 but I guess it's better late than never...
What is everyone's take on alcohol?
Personally I'm a beer fan. I love trying new brews from all over the world and seeing what different brew masters come up with to make their beer unique. Also I'm not against hard liquor or wine. Some mixed drinks I've tried recently were pretty good and would ask for them in the future if I ever go a bar to drink. And wine I just haven't really tried so I can't say much other than Sake is really to me.
So what is everyone else like?
Any suggestions on a mixed drink, boiler maker, brew, vintage, etc.?
P.S. Please don't post if you're not legally able to drink in your country. I don't want you to get in trouble with your parents/family/authority if they were to see your posts.

Don't care for alcohol - prefer drinks for their taste, rather than effect. The only tipple I have once a year is a classic snowball cocktail on New Year's eve.
2 measures Advocaat, .25 measure of lime cordial, shaken together, then poured into a highball glass, topped up with lemonade. It should be served over ice, but I prefer it without and served in a pint glass.
Advocaat 17.2% Alcohol by volume
Alcohol by volume of cocktail 5.5%

Taste above everything else, even if some of them people tend to call them "girlยดs drink".

"Beer for the men, red wine for the ladies!"

Argh! not wine!

Nonfictionguy, I don't drink alcohol for its effects either and have found that some alcoholic drinks can be very flavorful.
Elusyn, do you remember what is in a Green Bean?

I'm a big fan of alcohol. I'm am fascinated by most aspects of alcohol production, as well as the effects it has on the human body. The intricate brewing process of most beers and spirits are so appealing I consider them a genuine career option for me when I grow older.
In terms of taste, I predominantly enjoy lagers - which I used to hate as a youngster, and of the lagers, white beers are my favourites. They are very sweet, with Franzis Kaner and Hoegaarden being favourite brews. In a pub I always look for the wheat/white beers first, though I understand they are too sweet for most beer purists.
My favourite spirit is whiskey, which I can drink on its own or with a mixer. I also drink red wine (cannot stand white). I occasionally drink on my own too, whith red wine and whiskey being the major culprits of my auto-inebriation. Alcohol is fascinating!

I drink alcohol occasionally, that means when I'm in bars, clubs and restaurants or in special occasions. Two drinks tops!
I enjoy beer and I like to taste different kinds of beer from different countries (Germany, Ireland, Mexico, China etc). I prefer white wine (very cold) but I also like sweet red wines. I never drink spirits straight, not even ouzo. I don't like their taste, so I'm always mixing them with soda, fruit juices, sweet drinks or water.
My favourite coctail is B-52. You will need a part of a coffee liqueur (I prefer Kahlua), a part of Bailey's Irish Cream and a part of Grand Marnier. In bars and clubs, they serve the coctail in a shot glass and they don't mix the liqueurs. They pour one drink at the time in the order I gave above so at the end there are three layers. In cafes, they're usually mixing the drinks, they're adding ice and they're serving B-52 in a big glass.
And a very simple coctail I like. It is called "submarine". Sink a shot of whiskey in a big glass filled with beer. A sweet, tasty beer is a good choice for this one. That's it!

I drink often (in bars), and usually just for the effect, though taste is also important at some occasions. I love beer (very very cold Heineken beer, ah!) and Finnish long drinks, but I prefer also ciders, white whine mixed with Sprite (a cheap way to get wasted) and some drinks (for example White Russian).

I can post since I am half Italian. My personal preference is wine. I also like cheap champagne. I want to try a variety of other things as well...

Love it. I'm especially partial to microbrews and craft beers, and thankfully, Portland has among the most thriving scenes in the world for that sort of thing. In fact, the Oregon Brewers Festival is going on this week, but I'm not sure if I'll go this year.
I also have a penchant for good vodka, mostly along the lines of Stolichnaya, Belvedere, Grey Goose, and Ketel One, and the occasional whiskey sour. Dig absinthe (real, imported stuff, not wormwood-free) once in a rare while, too.
When I was younger, I drank to get wasted, but as I've gotten older, it's mostly for the taste and a nice calming buzz.

I only drink when I bowl.
I love to bowl.
