To Admins: Lists were not promoted in the main page.

Hi all, I just noticed that my lists are not being promoted in the mainpage recently eventhough they have receive votes. For example, my movie diary list reach 6 votes, but it does not get promoted, while I see some lists with only 6 votes in the main page. Am I the only one who have encountered this? I understand that before, that if your list reached the desired number of votes it will be promoted, Is there another requirement to get promoted to the main page besides the number of votes implemented recently? I am 4 years at listal now but this is my first time I have posted a thread as long as I remember, because Tom does not respond to my messages, hope the admins will respond to this thread. thanks!

The promotions are now random. Nobody (except Tom) know how they work which was at first kind of annoying but, at the end, the users have stopped fishing for votes to get their lists promoted.

Promotions are far from random, the requirements just differ based on category. They did seem random when Listal 2 was launched. Whether that was because of changes that we were not used to, or whether the random factor was later removed I'm not sure, but there is nothing random about the current promotion system.

yeah it should not be random, it will make no sense if thats the case. However I wonder why some of my lists was not get promoted even when they reach the desired number of votes.

The first promotion for movie lists comes at 11 votes, for music lists it is 5, I think people lists is 14. I forget what the others are, but I think food lists might be 5 too.

@Onion Jack, Sorry, I thought the promotions were random. I used to pay close attention to the promotions requirements but considering that those requirements are modifed every 6 months, I kinda lost interest.

No need to apologise, we were all pretty baffled when Listal 2 was pushed out. I only realised that they weren't so random because I am on here way too much...

I'm not sure for how much longer though, the loading issues paired with the constant spam are chipping away at my patience now. Every fix that is implemented only seems to last a couple of days and then we are back to square one.

I don't think front page promotions are completely random, but probably by theme? I noticed a lot of movie-related list promoted around the time of the Academy Awards, Christmas and New Year's during that season, etc,...
Sometimes, how much activity a list is garnering gets it promoted. I know from experience when I release a new list, it usually gets promoted within a day or two, depending on popularity and, if it's getting a lot of votes, promoted again within a few more days.
