Adding Videos

Trowa Barton 13 years, 2 months ago at Mar 4 17:34 -
Last night I wanted to upload video from Vimeo, but found I could only upload videos from YouTube.

Why is this?

Thanks and regards,

As far as why "vimeo" videos aren't allowed... not sure. Ether Tom hasn't gotten around to coding that yet or more likely has to do with Copyright issues. YouTube is diligent about removing videos where the Copyright of any content comes into question.

Since Vimeo is a non-ad driven site it can do more then other sites that are ad driven. The copyright laws for an artist sharing their work without any monetary gain ether for themselves or the site where their work is posted is FAR different from YouTube or for that matter Listal.

Posting a slide show of your work with a soundtrack by the Doors might be fine on Vimeo but not fine on YouTube.

Still, this wouldn't prevent you from 'embedding' a video in any list that you create... as the embedding function tracks directly back to Vimeo and Listal would not be part of storing any information regarding that video.

Oh, and yes... I know more then a few artists who post slideshows to their works with soundtracks to Vimeo simply because YouTube would delete the unauthorized usage of musical material.

Vimeo may be added in the future.
