Adding images

I've read the discussion that Tom and Prelude76 were having about the square thumbs in the beta test thread, but I decided to start a new thread so everyone could find this. Sometimes when I'm uploading pictures people get cut off at the sides to fit into the new squares and it's slightly annoying if it's the only picture you can find of them... I was wondering if there was any way we could select what part of the picture was actually shown, or if we could select an option for an automatic resize so that everything fits in? It might just make for tidier pictures (and a lot of people are starting to miss their chins). I like size of the square thumbs, I'm not complaining about that.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Would be nice to add eventually but meanwhile you could use a service like this to resize online :

well all top actors in first 25 or so pages are pretty much fixed. If you find a chinless actor, you can try looking for a replacement and making it primary, or send me a message and i'll try to fix it.
After a few problems with photos I've uploaded, it gets easier to predictably know how the pictures will be in square form. It always crops it with anchor set in top lef corner so just visually you can approximate what part will be cropped. I've even added a few horizontal photos, wallpaper backgrounds for example, and as long as actor is on left side, it gets cropped nicely.
But chinless actors are secondary issue for me, now that we can pick primary image. LOL. I'm having a heck of a time picking a primary image. Do I pick the young actor in his prime, or show the actor at a recent years, looking all feeble and gray? Do I pick the pose of actor in trademark role, like Indiana Jones for Harrison Ford, or do I show him in suit and tie while he's on the red carpet going to an awards show? And if trademark role is better, do I set indiana jones, Han Solo, or Jack Ryan versions of Mr. Ford? And don't even get me started on all the different shades of hair color and hair styles that all top tier actresses seem to go thru. LOL.
so many choices. sooooo many choices. a well, more choices is better than less choices. Right now, i'm trying to set them as 'most recognizable' photo as primary, and then upload all main memorable roles in the actor's profile.

I haven't been adding multiple images but I've gone by the convention of 'most recognizable' as well.

I've only been adding multi-images for my favorite actors/actresses.
The 'most recognized' concept seems to working ok, judging by all the actors primary iamges i've seen so far. Some actors get a lot more recognition in their later years, such as the ones that played the wizards in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but in cases like Bill Murray or Sean Connery, who were famous both in their prime and now as older men, I tend to usually set primary as the picture from their prime, to show them respect and to highlight their acting roots.
I love the new 'people' categories. Only wish I have is to better integrate the people profiles with the movie profiles and vice versa. They seem like such seperate areas right now. By that, I mean i'd like to see mini-thumbs of all actors and links to their profile on the respective Movie profile page, and also a mini-thumbs index of all movies an actor has played with links to those movies on the actor's profile page. It's probably already planned, but Tom is a very busy guy these days, keeping up with bugs and all these next features. :)
