Actors credited as self or as archive footage

This is something that has been bugging me for ages. If an actor/actress is credited as self or as archive footage in IMDb, it shows in Listal in his or her movies section. For example according to this system the most popular movie of Marilyn Monroe is L.A. Confidential and there's tons of other movies also which don't belong there. This makes it harder to be a completionist and it's pretty annoying in general. Could it be possible to separate these titles from the actual movies in which the actor/actress is credited as an actor/actress? Would be appreciated.

Yes I've I noticed this and is a bit annoying, hopefully I will be able to fix this in the future. I don't think all credits as 'Self' should be removed from the main movie list though. Added suggestion here:

Thanks! I think it would be a good idea to remove all 'self' credited works from movies too, cause thinking what to include and what to exclude would be disputable. Credits as self and as archive footage could be in different sections completely, the site would be lot clearer then.

I agree that archive footage should be removed but "self" credits absolutely should not be removed. Just because an actor is portraying their real-life persona it's still scripted 99% of the time. Jean-Claude Van Damme playing himself in a cameo in "Last Action Hero" is still acting. Look at "Penn Teller Get Killed." The movie is 100% scripted but they are still credited as themselves.

Yes, I agree that cameo roles are problematic and also think that if possible they should be included in the main movie list. But if the system would stay as it is, so that all self credits are included, all kinds of documentaries (containing probably interviews), award ceremonies and such appear in actors' movie and TV lists, which is really confusing and irritating.

I don't want to rush, but is this going anywhere?
